That is really funny that you should mention - I was just on my way to have one. I have read a lot that says green tea (3 cups / day) helps your metabolism to speed up helping you to lose weight. The only problem is I get acidic like burn down my throat from it (nothing bad just uncomfortable)

really? that doesn't happen to me but i've always wondered how exactly it speeds up your metabolism..?

I think it helps you lose weight because if you drink green tea the odds of you not drinking coffee (with milk and sugar) are a lot higher.

My thought is:

1. Don't expect it to be a magic cure.
2. Don't expect it to replace other sensible measures like exercise and a good diet
3. It couldn't hurt to try it...!

Does Green Tea really help you lose weight ?

I started drinking Green Tea 2 - 3 months ago, initially purely for the antioxidant qualities it is supposed to possess. I am not fat, and was not really overweight by more than a couple of lbs anyway. However I was quite amazed to find that I lost a couple of kilos without even dieting !?! Currently I have now lost about 3.5 kilos, and my weight appears to be still getting lower. The only thing I have done differently is drink Green Tea. 1 Tea Bag for half a pot of Tea 3 times a day, 2 mugs for breakfast, 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner. My appetite seems better also, as I do like sweets and chocolate, biscuits and cake, which I try to eat in moderation. I certainly do feel better for it. Has anyone else had the same effects which can be attributed to Green Tea ?

supplements insead of tea?

I don't like the taste of green tea but I have read so much good stuff about green tea being good for you. It is supposed to rev up your metabolism, give you energy and also the antioxidants are great for you. That's why, even though people in Japan smoke a lot, they have less lung cancer than America... because they have antioxidants in their diets like green tea.

Anyway, I take green tea supplements and GNC told me that they are the same as drinking it but is that really true?

I take the supplements and drink the tea

I take green tea supplements and drink green tea. Whenever I do, my metabolism speeds right up and if I eat something, I have to go to the bathroom right after because the green tea helps your body not hold onto excess fats from the food. I love green tea supplements as well as the tea. It gives me so much energy as well !

in my experience yes, primarily because if you drink decaf green tea, you are not drinking coffee or anything else. makes me calm as well which I like.

Well, I love it, and it doesnt stain your teeth as badly as black tea or coffee and no carbonation as in diet coke.

what are the actual benefits in comparison to black tea? Black tea also boasts antioxidants..

Green tea has a catechin - one of four major catechins- called Epigallocatechin gallate. EGCG as its called, cause the body to burn fat for fuel. In my experience, drinking the tea is much more effective than the pills. I think it may be because 1. the water is more filling and 2. possibly the EGCG is more bio-available.
As for the teeth, green tea is a good source of flouride. So not only does it not stain teeth, it strengthens them. Drink the tea and you'll notice. The pills can be hard on the nervous system if you take too many. Be Well!

I recently switched from coffee to green tea, and the green tea has made me feel better. I stay full from my meals longer and I don't get quite the caffiene crash as I did with coffee.

I don't think it's helped me lose any more weight per say, but it makes me feel good, and isn't that what's most important anywho? :)

The Green Tea Fiasco

Green Tea does help you lose weight since it contains vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients that help you feel fuller. However: all tea is a mild diuretic, and drinking too much of it can send your body into shock, and extreme amounts can send your body into a coma. The best thing to do is to drink anywhere from 1-5 cups a day. 6-7 will send you into shock, and 10+ will send you into a coma.

I drink about 3 cups of hot and unsweetened green tea a day. I'm not sure if it's helped me lose weight, but I have noticed a difference in my waistline. I drink this in conjunction with eating a balanced, low calorie diet and hitting the gym 3-4 times a week. I work in an office and when it gets slow I tend to get bored and find something to snack on. Since I started drinking green tea, I just get up and fill up my tea cup instead of eating things I shouldn't. It's also cold in my office, so the tea keeps me warm :)

I love green tea- it does work. The caffeine speeds your metabolism and activates the polyphenols. The ECGC makes your body want to burn fat and is like an astringent cleanser to your body. I actually lost 70 lbs with green tea, but I ate a lot less, its an appetite supressant because you start burning fat. However, I went back to black tea with sugar and milk and gained it all back plus some. I'm on the downward spiral again thanks to PT and green tea.

It works because it is hot water, which helps you to burn calories. And it has antioxidants. That's all.

Many of us are interested in losing weight. Weight loss products are huge sellers - even when they make ridiculous claims. But there is evidence to suggest that some substances can help speed up our metabolism. And, we all know that a faster metabolism means more calories burned in a day - and that can easily translate into weight loss. testking RH302 One substance that does seem to have promise in the battle of the bulge is green tea. First of all, green has caffeine, which does speed the metabolism somewhat. And, what's special about tea is that, for some reason, the caffeine in tea doesn't appear to raise the heart rate or blood pressure rate the way other forms of caffeine do. testking JN0-303 This makes tea an effective way to speed up the metabolism without worry for those who are caffeine sensitive. testking JN0-521 Green tea also seems to be helpful for weight loss because of its potent anti-oxidants. Tea's polyphenols have been shown to have many health benefits because they combat free radicals in the body that can cause cell damage.

To get the maximum benefit from green tea it's better to brew the tea from tea leaves as opposed to tea bags. I have a bodum strainer I put right in the mug. It's as convenient as using a tea bag. I drink jasmine tea because I love the taste.

The answer is yes, especially when combined with a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. There was one study we recently read that said if you drink green tea and eat a grapefruit, the odds of certain cancers plummeted.

The other thing about green tea is that it is not a sugar and fat delivery mechanism. Only a small percentage of people drink coffee with no sugar or creamer.

Green tea is much easier to drink alone. This article gives you a couple great ideas to make green tea taste great:

Green tea helps metabolism and has antioxidants that are really healthy for you. so not only does it taste good, but you speed up the fat burning process while enjoying a nice cup of tea. i usually drink approximently 4-5 cups a day and it really makes a differance! i have been doing the same with lemon juice too. It only has a minor effect. Green tea is honestly the best way to lose weight if you dont want to diet, it just gives you a little boost. i'm sorry my spelling was really bad. i'm only 11. no judjing on my spelling please!!!

Modifying your own look at foods is usually a fantastic technique to start to slim down. Tiny substitutions make it easier to keep your sense of full satisfaction after you actually eat, though reducing the fat as well as calories amounts of the portions. The very first couple of weeks of one's weight reduction process, basically function on these tiny alterations. Start off with a single example and after that include a 2nd for the 7 days. You might start to actually eat a wholesome the morning meal every single day. The breakfast actually is an essential dish and might enable you to really feel satisfied for extended time periods through the day. Data have revealed that individuals who take in the morning meal are usually significantly less certain to become chubby. And so, consume your morning meal every single day plus try out to get a reduced dish while dining. As soon as one has be cozy with such adjustments, it's time for you to add more exercising within the blend.

Green teas DOES help you lose weight

I can't say enough about Green tea for weight Loss!! My daughter is 13 years old and currently weighs 195pds. I have tried everything from the Atkins diet to watching calories and nothing worked. I even had her tested for Thyroid problems and medical conditions. Finally I started her on Green tea and she is Finally losing some weight. I don't usually promote products, but this is the link to what I purchased. Good Luck and DRINK green tea

http://4bf41horrj0lfz6d01qjdfj08m.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=GREEN4TEA

Green tea is not a magic bullet!! Moderate exercise and a good diet is essential to maximize benefits, but as I've stated it does work. Green tea pills or tea that is not fresh or high in the essential properties is a waste of your time and money.

Green Tea vs. Coffee.

I adore coffee that I use my Cheats for it (and a modest splash of half and half. Having said that, I'm turning down the coffee a little bit and using green tea. I like the peach flavored Green tea.

There are health benefits for coffee, too. I never drink sugary coffee drinks and I've trained myself to like a "lighter" cup of coffee (less ground beans and more water so it feels like a lot.

It really helps to lose weight, as it enhances metabolism and burns fat. I drink 2 cups of green tea everyday for breakfast and before going to sleep, and I also drink aloe vera juice as it's also supposed to work for weight loss (see the article). So Ive lost 7 pounds, its not much of course but I still think thats a good result.
