I take a cookie sheet cover it with foil--spray a lite coating of PAM xtra virgin olive oil spray--spread out the asparagus--top with minced garlic (I use the spice world jar kind) and place them under the broiler-- I like mine crispy so I leave them in x-tra long!
Sometimes I cook them in a skillet, kind of the same way... it just doesn't get as crispy. I also dice asparagas and saute with mushrooms and red onions, it lite olive oil (yummy)
Oh and I always top with just a pinch of Sea Salt!

ever notice that after you eat asparagus, there's a really odd smell when you go to the bathroom? I hate it, but I love eating asparagus!

I put them in a long glass dish with a little bit of water, covered, in the microwave for a couple minutes, to steam. Then I put them in a pan with a little more water, plus some garlic, lemon juice, and a little bit of butter (I use the Brummel and Brummel yogurt-based butter, and just a little tab of it), and sometimes a little shake of red pepper. Let that cook down until the liquid is pretty much gone, tossing once in awhile (cook on medium-ish to low), then add some soy sauce (the low sodium kind) and toss in that until the soy cooks down and kind of caramelizes. Soooo yummy! I make green beans the same way!
