please read profile before joining?
I just wanted to say to please read the profile of the group before you join. i like peertraining because there are so many diverse groups but I really want a group with a starting goal like myself I started a group to look for other people who have the same amount of weight to lose so I know we will all have the same common issues so I post I want people who need a great amount of weight to lose and someone always joins who is like only 5-10 lbs. overweight and then they never post. also if you are in a group and stop posting because it wasnt for you please quit the right way so it can be open for a new member to join. just had to vent my frustration.

You can read some of it, the summary. And, if you join and find it isn't for you, you can leave.
Also, if it's called "for people looking to lose 100+ lbs," and you need to lose 10, just don't join. Just like if it's called "Christian mothers in Alabama," and you're single, Jewish and live in California, don't join.

I pretty much agree with the OP but would mention that sometimes it's a problem for people like me who enjoy some degree of diversity to figure out which groups really want to have a narrow focus and which ones just have a profile that describes the person who started the group. Maybe 10% of the profiles on each end of the scale are crystal clear about that but the 80% in the middle leave it somewhat to the imagination.

BUT:
yes, you can't read the complete group profile or see who the people are without joining the group, BUT what you can do it join the group, read it all for a few minutes, and then if that's not for you just leave the group. No harm done, and no one even noticed you were there looking.
