Should inactive users be removed after 5 days?

Currently it's 7 days, but I think it should be 5. If someone hasn't posted in 5 days, are they really going to come back? I'd rather have someone in my group who is active. Or 4? Thoughts?

please don't take this the wrong way, but if you do a quick search in the search window, you can read many, many opinions regarding this very topic. it has been brought up several times and many people responded.

no discouragement. just a bit of information about how to access more opinions that have already been expressed. while new comments may be made here, others who have already responded may not answer again and they might have left good comments in other threads. i'm sure the OP or whomever else is interested enough can do a search.

I think people should be ranked by their activity level, so that when people are looking for groups, there is some sort of index that shows how committed the other members are. It would also give an incentive for people to boost their own rank.

funny the things that get deleted from the forum. here is a link to several previous discussions regarding inactivity of group members.

I really like the idea of ranking or points or some system to show activity level. It would be both good to see activity level of groups/teams, and a great personal incentive for logging/commenting etc.

I think there should be some way of putting inactive members out of your group. It takes up a spot someone who wants support. Not to mention the other people in the group have NO support. They might as well be alone... I think a vacation log off, so people are not dropped for being out of town on vacation ect.

There's already a vacation box. You can check that if you go on vacation. i think the op is talking about regular posting.

I think that alot of people start coming here before they are ready to stop making excuses. I found that in the two groups I was in there was only a combined 3 of us posting. You can't kick the others out but I just started a new group with the two others who were loging, so the 3 of us could support each other. Easy solve. If the others do choose to start being active before they are kicked out, then alsome, I will still be there to support them as well. Everyone needs a breaks sometimes.
