This is a tough one - I have had them the majority of my life (growth spurt at 12 years grew almost inch and half overnight). I think the only thing is lasers. I have tried scar creams , and the cocoa butter is great to prevent when you know that your boddy is going to change size, but other than that we're SOL

They have laser treatments for that. Cocoa butter does nothing but moisturize.

a little off topic, but not really. I had surgery to remove my appendix about a month and a half ago and I have three small scars, but they are somewhat dark. I have been using cocoa butter on them and I think that is helping them to not be so raised. Has anyone ever used Mederma? (or Maderma? I am not sure of the spelling) I really don't want to invest in a $13-$15 cream if it's not going to give me that results I want.

no offense, but don't you think that if there was a reliable product that actually worked, we would have at least heard about it? this would be a major breakthrough for any manufacturer / company and i'm sure the new york times would weight in on it, too. not to mention the people on this site would not be able to keep it a secret!! there are many myths about cocoa butter and vitamin E and all kinds of products that claim to "possibly reduce the appearance" of stretch marks. but the wording is such that it is not proven nor based on scientific or experiential evidence, it's just a marketing phrase. i have heard that massaging the areas does something beneficial for the blood flow and some people have found a bit of improvement. good luck and let us know if you find something that works!!

all the creams and medications out there only work for new scars or stretch marks (ones that are pink or purple) and they do have some success. Once they have faded to white, get used to them, they'll be around for a looooong time.

Product for Stretch Marks
Go to the Bath & Body Works - Flagship stores (usually in better malls/centers). They have Mother-to-Be Products for Stretch Marks. I'm so sorry. I forgot the name. Ask a manager or associate.
