Different diets?
I've tried a couple of different diets. Weight Watchers for one. It seemed to go ok with the points system. I didn't go to meetings. I just got together with a friend who had made copies of the "plan" which unfortunately I don't have that anymore. But when we weighed in it was private and we only told whether we gained or lost weight. So not much accountability. We also tended to cheat on the weekends and I wasn't doing any kind of exercise. So I pretty much know how that one failed. I was on the Atkins diet once for a couple of weeks but I didn't feel good when I was on it. Most recently I tried the South Beach diet. I think it had some good points to it. Again I wasn't exercising. The first two weeks were awful. Very restrictive on what you could eat. The program after that was ok. You never did count calories it just told you what foods to eat and what not to eat. I would just like to know what the thoughts are on these types of diets. If anyone is happy or unhappy with them tell me what you think.

I've also done several different "diets" including weight watchers, south beach, etc. What I seem to have done is pick up bits and pieces of useful information along the way and built my own healthy way of eating. I don't "diet" any more. I eat healthy. From Weight Watchers I learned that I need to balance what I eat and watch my portions if I want to lose weight. From South Beach I learned that not all carbs are bad and not all fats are bad. I need to get a healthy portion of the healthy kinds of each into my diet. And I've learned a lot from reading logs and comments on PT. There are a lot of knowledgable folks out there who are willing to share what they have learned along the way to their own successes. Good luck to you!
