Food Intake to Weight

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes your body to 'process' the food you intake and translate it into weight gain? For example, binge eating w/ a bunch of dessert & general non-activity for a weekend.

My guess is it probably takes a couple days for everything to be processed to the four corners of the body, but that's just a guess.

No idea....

But why find an excuse for why the scale is up or down? Just keep doing the RIGHT things and try to avoid the binges and then no worries about when that binge is going to show up on the scale. If it shows up on the scale get over it already and move on - try to outweight (no pun intended) the binges with healthy habits and you'll be on the way to the scale being in a downward direction for the most part. Don't fixate on bad days, bad meals, bad binges, bad scale results.

I believe the question was out of pure curiosity. Gaining a better understanding of how the human body works is an important step in becoming healthy. The general question has to do with how our metabolism works and improving the eating/workout cycle as a whole. Sometimes it is easier to understand things when they can trace the reaction back to an action.
