Hoping to find others who suffer or have suffered from an eating disorder to help one another on the path to healthy, fit, and happy living.

my suggestion is to not share stories but concerns. Those struggling with eating disorders tend to use others stories as tips on ways to be more effective on what they are doing. Dont fuel the fire

I agree with 4:33am -- I had someone with an ED in one of my groups who seemed to be using PT to find new ways to torture herself or learning how to mimic a "normal" dieter.

i also thought for sure that this was about erectile dysfunction! i almost did not open the thread at all, but figured that i might learn something to pass on to one of my male friends. funny!

i think if you suffer from or are recovering from an eating disorder, you'd be better off following advice from someone who has a healthy outlook on food and who has not suffered from an eating disorder. you really need to change the way you relate to food and your own body when you suffer from such, and you really want to avoid the "glamour" that can sometimes become associated with self-destructive behaviour. remember that people who suffer from eating disorders can relapse many times before they are able to adjust to a healthy way of eating. be careful that, even if you yourself feel strong and "over" the hump, the person you converse with may not feel the same, and you wouldn't want to send anyone into harm's way.
