No, but I did a one-week organic vegan detox diet as part of a residential health and fitness program, and we were fed 35g fiber every day. Most people had major gas problems and, how to put this nicely, eliminated large volumes of waste several times a day.
I didn't find 35g fiber sustainable, but 25g is fairly painless. High fiber foods just don't taste that good (or not as good as other, more refined things), so you end up relying on supplements or "fake foods" like those Fiber 35 bars.

Its just another diet fad. Anyone who poops enough will see some weight loss. What happens when you stop taking so much fiber and go back to eating normally? Your weight will come back. Why not just increase your fiber? Take extra fiber, I take an extra 3 grams a day and make sure I eat at least 6 servings of veggies and fruit as well as oatmeal most mornings.

Saw part of this show on PBS and I want to learn more, but of course it's something you have to work up to.

I also saw this on PBS and thought it might have some merit. I have been motivated to increase fiber intake by buying better bread and checking labels but nowhere near the 35 g required. I guess even small increases will have some benefits.

I routinely get 50 or more grams of fiber a day without supplementation. It is all in your approach to food.
