EMAIL THREAD
'Do you want to get well?'
If you are being asked this question, you will know who has asked it.
Is Jesus the one you depend on? Do you know the gift of being able to come before a throne of grace?
If so, and if you are ready to make this commitment, please join a team with me.
There is no failure is His grace.
Please post a response if you want to join me and we can start something.
Let's live out His word and promises instead of just speaking them.
Sat. Mar 24, 9:29pm
You should title your thread appropriately, e.g. "OT: for Jesus Freaks only" so that the rest of us can choose to avoid your rampant fanaticism.

There are a lot of cliff hanger titles on this board... I will pray for you today for Jesus to soften your heart.

I'm a born-again Christian, but I'm bothered by these religious threads.
I came here to get healthy, not have a discussion about God. Take that somewhere else, please, out of respect for those who don't necessarily believe in the Judeo-Christian faith.
Sunday, March 25, 2007, 8:26 AM
8:27 I totally agree with you!
Sunday, March 25, 2007, 8:59 AM
there is nothing wrong with sharing your faith. I too am a christian and not ashamed of it, I love god and He gets Me through so much in My life ,
but there is a time and a place for everything. there is such a thing as being tactful as well. shoving religion down peoples throats will not help them get to know christ as you do. all it will do is push them further away.
just some thoughts.

I am an atheist and an agnostic and I cringe whenever I see the word his capitalized ... but I don't think the OP was shoving anything down anyone's throat ... she was looking for likeminded team mates
Sunday, March 25, 2007, 3:12 PM
Hee hee! Jesus freaks only ! Love it!
Sunday, March 25, 2007, 3:28 PM
to the 3:12 poster I was just meaning thats how some people are seeing the post. I have nothing against the post. like I said Im a christian and proud of it . but others dont beleive the same way and may get offended. just was a warning as how others may see the post. putting god ceneter of weight loss and any situation is great. wasnt meaning to sound agressive. smiles

I commend..(I wanted to say God Bless you) for your fairness and respect. I can have a discussion with people who disagree with my beliefs without getting angry..but many(of all beliefs) can't. So thank you for defending someones right to express herself. Good for you and all.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 12:56 PM
I don't care about your religious fervor - just spout it in the right place. I'll bet there are tons of relevant sites out there, since unfortunately this "pray for you" poster is not alone in her piousness. The title was deliberately duplicitous. It's annoying enough to deal with street preachers with megaphones and Jehovah's Witnesses at my door and the pushy zealots who are always trying to get strangers to go to church with them. Even priests and rabbis and assorted other ministers don't annoy random people like this.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 1:07 PM
wait a minute...who is this jesus fellow? isn't he the guy who people started the spanish inquisition over?
Monday, March 26, 2007, 1:43 PM
read John 3:16. I too am a strong believer I was raised in church. I didnt mean you were shoving it down peoples through just was saying some may be offended with it but I agree with 3:12 you have a right to believe in what you do..
to all the others try not to be so agressive . we all have a right to different belifs and opinions but we are all here for support. just because you do not agree with teh OP doesnt mean you cant show her respect and leave them in peace to believe as they believe
Monday, March 26, 2007, 1:59 PM
believe what you want, but when you begin to preach to others, you should be prepared for the feedback. religious discussions really have been welcomed with little argumentation in the past on this site, but that's because the posters usually waited until someone joined their team or group to let the religious talk get into full swing. look, the OP opened up this can of worms. if you use bait, you're probably fishing for something...
Monday, March 26, 2007, 3:44 PM
I only asked if there was anyone who understood where I was. I am not ashmaed of my reliance on Jesus. I am not telling anyone else their way to healing. I just know my way is through Christ. I just wanted to join with others who feel the same. If this isn't the place, oh well...I will move on.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 3:47 PM
The post above and this one is from me OP, ...I reread my original post and see how it could have been taken wrong. The words' Do you want to get well' are quote from Jesus. I thought only those who recognized His words would respond to the post. Most Christ followers know His word well. So I really wasn't trying to preach.
Sorry to those who got offended.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 3:55 PM
To OP
You have a right to open a thread on any subject. Get used to this attitude and don't be afraid or we will be in a society pretty soon where Christians will be in fear of who hears them talking or praying. This has already ocurred in Canada, some african countries and some european countries, as in Sweden for instance, an elderly pastor has been imprisoned for reading portions of the Bible regarding sin from his pulpit. Our free speech is in danger. It's no joke.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 4:49 PM
its a shame . yes jesus was a healer so from that I can get where you titled the thread. to the rest that dont want to listen or read a post this is the net click the x. but dont tell somoene what they can and cant say. I knew some of you would take what this post said and be offended by it. thats why I warned the OP that some may find it offensive . there is a time and a place for everything, but the OP didnt make you read the post or ask for comments. she was looking for people that know him to join with her putting him in the center of their weight loss.
the bible says I can do all things through christ which strengthens Me. I think is what the OP was trying to get across.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 5:42 PM
The OP doesn't need this forum to find others who are just bursting with religious rapture - all she had to do was search for "christian/s" amongst the teams and groups, thereby sparing the rest of us.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 6:20 PM
to the 6:20 poster** try to relax. People put up with you without freaking out, don't they? What if someone said profess your faith in God or get lost. Be fair.
Monday, March 26, 2007, 6:39 PM
I would love to join
whats the link?
Monday, March 26, 2007, 7:26 PM
that is a cop-out excuse for starting a charged thread. christ's followers know the quoted question, "do you want to get well?" ? well, this is also a regular old english sentence and even people who aren't followers of christ understand it. it's not so specific to the topic, as asking,"are you friends with bill w.?" would be. those who don't know the meaning might not even open the thread, but who doesn't want to get better? c'mon! it's an extremely controversial subject and now you know why most people keep these kinds of topics to their group or team discussions.
Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 8:07 AM
There are very diverse threads on this community board. People can write whatever is on thier heart. I don't bother to go on the Britney thread to tell them that theyre morons for being interested in her, or on the dog food recall thread to tell them that they should discuss that on a pet website because we don't all have a dog and the rest of us don't care. Why not? Because I respect the fact that people All have the right to express themselves, to talk, to discuss. That's a right in this country. There is an orchestrated effort in the world to silence the faithful. I haven't seen any marchers against astrologers, Have you?
Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 9:43 AM
hey, i'm not knocking your right, and everyone elses' right, to post whatever you want to on this community forum. but you should be aware that some topics will generate heated and often ugly debate. sure, the OP has a "right" to pose a question or comment about religion, just as those who find no solace in it have a "right" to respond with bewilderment as to the importance of such beliefs. and the britney thread and the dog food recall thread are not disguised as some other topic. the title of this thread is misleading, no two ways about it. bait and reel 'em in...
Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 9:51 AM
(to 9:51) Okay, I don't think she was trying to think of a title so that no one would open the thread. You are funny. When I open a thread and find out that it doesn't interest or apply to me, I CLOSE IT, CLICK! But people are responding negatively or positively because it is interesting to them. Dialog!
That's why we can talk, that's why we can write. YAY
Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 1:08 PM
and i, too, find it interesting enough to comment, i just totally disagree with luring people into a thread with a general statement or question that's not representative of the topic. whatever. i also disagree with the whole premise of god, so what do i know?
