"The Secret" kicking God out of His system?

Today's evil society is working hard on every front to erase God from everything in the name of progress. The "Secret" proposes that we can do all things by ourselves..without God.
In Gen 3:4 Satan tells Eve that God does not want them to eat of the apple because it will make them like God. That was the beginning of this idea..that we don't need God..that we can do it all without him through our minds.

To the OP

God gave us our minds, expects us to use them, and made certain that the mind/body connection was extremely strong. There are a few things that we can not do without God's direct intervention. Everything else, He expects us to put some effort into. You might as well say that gardening kicks God out of His system.

As I said, God expects us to use the minds He gave us. Please do so.

I noticed that the positive thinking thing is something that the Bible talks about too, like the ad for the movie. Do you believe in Adam and Eve? I know that the evolution theory must be called a theory because it was never proven, I am believing in God and the creation story but I have to investigate more.

Free speech??

Anger that there are people who believe in the Bible is amazing. People who don't believe in the Bible do not expect to be attacked these days, but people who do, have absolutely become a target if they open thier mouths. This is a free forum but I can't see the attack in the opening comment. Just a comment on a movie. Pretty intelligent from my way of thinking.

Don't be disturbed when someone who believes in the Bible and God like you do speaks thier mind. Perhaps you are stressed not by the comment but by the reaction that we get when we say anything direct. Your free speech is in danger. I hope you can see that.

I really like the secret and positive thinking.I accept people for who they are and what their belief is.I watched the movie and did not see anything that was referring to religion in any way unless I missed it.I feel whether a person gets their strength from religion or their god that is ok if that is what they believe in but that is not the point of the movie. It's what YOU do with your strengh.Ok here I go, I do believe in God but I can pray all I want but if I truely deep down don't believe I can do something then for me it is not attainable or going to work. That is what I got from the movie. I am sorry you feel that way OP.Did I miss something in the movie Op or are you wanting to bring up religion?

OP, would you argue that Normal Vincent Peale was trying to "kick God out of his system"? Becuase I saw on "Sunday Morning" that the Secret is just an updated version of Peale's "The Power of Positive Thinking".

The update is to leave God out of all human equasion. It's Gnosticism, very ancient. I am very positive in my opinion, but some don't seem to think so. I didnt know Dr. Peale, nor have I studied him at any length, but I do know that he refered his listeners always to God. God loves us all the time, in whatever mindset we are in, but He offers us a better way.
