I don't think it's good to drink a lot of coffee, period. Since you work overnight, you must have to sleep during the day. Do you have someplace quiet and dark to sleep? Maybe if you got more restorative sleep, you wouldn't need so much coffee to stay awake at night. Try replacing some of your coffee with water - - but be aware, if you're still drinking lots of coffee, it's just going to make you pee more often.

I would suggest just drinking water during exercise, cardio or strength training. You need to replace the fluids you lose during exercise and coffee will only increase your fluid loss due to its diuretic effect. I have read several studies in the press about the health advantages to drinking coffee (less Type 2 diabetes and liver cancer) but you definitely need to be drinking water while exercising.

i think it really depends on how much coffee you are drinking. A cup or two a day is no big deal (especially if you also drink plenty of water) but if we're talking a LOT of coffee everyday, then yes you could be doing more damage than good.

hey thanks for the responses. Ya I do drink water also and only a couple of cups of coffee but I love it and it keeps me from snacking because there is always a bunch of cookies, cake and brownies. I figure its better than not working out at all or eating garbage. If you guys find anything else out let me know
