I am on a downward spiral from halloween this week.

If anyone has words of advice, I would be most appreciative.

It's okay. We've all been there. You're already recovering because you have posted this post. Every day, every hour brings new opportunities and new perspectives. What is the thing you need the most help with?

I'm right there with you - I ate more halloween candy today than yesterday or any day before halloween. Finally I threw the rest of the bag out. And then I went to chipotle for lunch and looked up the nutrition data when I got back - I think I ate a 1200 calorie lunch! Damn. No wonder I have a headache.

Here's what I'm trying to do:
1. remove temptation by throwing out the rest of the candy
2. listen to my body. I have already eaten my day's allowance of calories (I also had a decent-sized breakfast), so I'm not hungry even though it's almost dinner time. And I know that eating all that sugar this morning gave me this headache and made me want to fall asleep all afternoon. So when I see my office candy, I try to focus on how icky I feel.
3. drink lots and lots of water to flush all that crap I just ate out of my system. I've had 48 oz water and 2 cups of tea so far.
4. get in a good work out at the gym tonight, again to help my body process away all the junk.
5. probably skip dinner, or maybe eat something small and very healthy like an apple with some yogurt, but only if I'm truly hungry.

Hang in there! Give yourself a quick shake and get back on track! The week has just barely begun - you can definitely still make it successful.

Eat dinner!

To the above poster, I think you should eat a small dinner no matter what. Even if it is one carrot! You need to keep your body fed, no matter how big a lunch you had.

I feel the same as the original poster. I'm having a little trouble getting out of the Halloween candy funk. It's not the candy I bought, it's the candy my daughter brought home from trick or treating. Honestly, I think I have picked out the things that I like already and the rest shouldn't be too tempting. I think if it gets worse today I will dump the stuff I like in the trash and keep the rest for her. Believe me, she'll never know what's missing. I just hate having this feeling and craving after keeping it together for so long.
