If you really want to Support ouur Troops
As a military mom. i have to let people know how I feel. I feel awful when someone says they are sorry for me and ask me how I feel? My son is not a victim or a loser! He was a college athlete and could easliy stayed in college. I always knew He would serve his country one day. He eaned many colleges credits already He also became a lMachinist. He i loves it. He has shown me many pictures of himself and many Iraqi children. The best way to support the troops is to simply say ThankYou. I don't need to know your politicall views! You are entitled to them Please just give me a break ! If you can't simply say Thank You keep it to yourself!

Hear, hear. I'm a military wife, daughter, cousin and friend. People who have no connection to anyone in the military just assume that everything the media feeds them is correct. You don't realize that our guys (and gals) who are serving are HAPPY to serve and believe in what they're doing. To the original poster - do me a favor and tell your son I say thank you.

THANK YOU!
Thank you, and thank your servicemember! Thank you Thank you Thank you! I am so grateful for what you and your family are doing. Thank you for being there. We owe you and them a debt of gratitude.

I also say thank you, and mean it,
However, to the 9:12 poster who said, "People who have no connection to anyone in the military just assume that everything the media feeds them is correct," I have to tell you that is a really sweeping statement. And I am living proof that it is also erroneous. I, as yet, have no connection to the current military, but I do NOT assume anything of the sort.
Sweeping, unfounded statements about the military bring divisions and hard feelings, but so do sweeping, unfounded statements about the rest of us.
My country, the USA, needs all of us. It needs the brain power, the work power, the emotion power, the income producing power of all of it's people. Just because we are not a military family, like yours evidently is (again, sincere and heartfelt thanks) does not make us mindless dupes of anyone's media.
I do need you, and your contributions, but the military also needs me, and my contributions. In tax dollars, if for no other reason.
Again, Thank You.

I don't know anyone in the military but I can say every time I see someone in uniform I thank them. They are serving our country for them, their families and all of us. They are brave and should be thanked any and every time you see them around, let them know how much you appreciate them for putting their lives on the line for all of us, regardless of what you think about the war or the current government administration. They are all heros!

I Thank everyone who is there risking their lives for our freedom! My mom is in in Bagdad and believe me it is HARD to know what she goes throught every day. She turns 60 today! She is a mother of 3 and has 3 grandchildren.

i get so upset when i hear news correspondents and anchor people refer to our "young men & women" who are risking their lives in the military. there are so many reservists and career military personnel that are well beyond what is considered "young". they should receive accolades, too, for their service!!

Our Troops
My parents were both immigrants. When I was little my mon would point out people in military uniforms and say "those good people love us so much that they volunteer to protect you and me and they don't even know us, they love our country in a special very important way, we need to be thankful to them".
To this day, when I see military people, I get all choked up and my heart fills with love for them. Teach your kids this kind of love and respect. Thanks Mom.
