Step counter

Can anyone suggest a brand of step counter that doesn't make that little clicking noise constantly? Got a cheap on - maybe it's too cheap, maybe that's the probelm - and the clicking sound drives me crazy.

I think you are stuck with the clicking noise. It is made by the little weight inside that jiggles when you take a step. Each time it jiggles, it registers another step. I've never seen one that doesn't have this. Of course, I like the cheaper stuff, rather than the fancy overpriced stuff (why pay $40 for something when a $15 one will work?), so I could be wrong.

The Omron HJ-112 pedometer counts steps with some kind of electronic sensor that doesn't click. There are others like it but I saw good reviews for this one, bought it, like it fine. The list price probably is like $40 but I paid under $20.

mine is from digiwalker.com and while it does have a lever inside and does make a clicking sound with each step, it is VERY quiet. i don't notice it at all and i've had it for 5 years (and still works fantastic! i just had to replace the batteries for the first time a few months ago!)
