South Beach success stories?

I'd like to hear success stories from anyone who has tried the South Beach diet. Let me know what, if any, exercise you did alongside it as well. Thanx!

I love the South Beach diet . I started Jan 6, 2006 and have lost about 55 pounds. I have had a couple of set backs , but I returned to phase 1 and started over. I do exercise about 4-5 days a week 30-45 minutes. They don't talk about exercise that much in the book but I thinks its a must. For myself this diet has been a lifesaver. It works for me. However it might not be right for everyone. This diet was recommended to me by my Doctor. I have had friends try it and the didn't seem to like it . Good Luck

I've been on SB since Feb 13, 2004 and love it. I lost 10 lbs which was good enough for me but I also dropped my blood sugar down to the normal range. I am a Type 2 diabetic and control it by mainly staying on the induction phase with healthy carbohydrates a few times a week. I agree witht he previous poster, it may not be for everyone but if you have problems with blood sugar it makes sense.

You might also want to try the Fat Smash diet- at least do the first phase.

Ha! I laughed at that last one :-)

I didn't lose weight on the SB diet (used strict portion control and calorie-counting), but I do follow phase 3 to keep it off, and it's really quite sensible. Maintenance has not been an issue for me. I also work out 45min/day 5 days a week + active weekend outings.
