Has anyone seen a Naturopath?
I am interested in seeing a naturpath to discuss my energy levels, vitamins, minerals. Has anyone had good experiences? Bad experiences?
What is the initial visit like?
Thanks!

I have seen several for a couple of things I opted not to do the western treatment for. I had awesome experiences and fabulous results. I think it really depends on where you go and who you see. I live in Washington state where the Bastyr University is and they have an awesome clinic. I had saw a naturpath, did some chinese medicine and acupuncture. I still do acupuncture for a couple of things but mainly because I find it really focuses and relaxes me. Do some research on who is available by you and what their specialty is.

Oh one more thing, the initial visit is long. they ask tons of questions, some might seem odd but you need to remember this is alternative medicine and they treat the whole body. Be honest and tell them everything.

I heartily recommend you see a naturopath. Mine saved me from an unnecessary surgery by asking the right questions. Expect him or her to spend a lot of time with you.

I've taken classes in herbology and natural medicine, and I definitely recommend a naturopath. I haven't visited one yet, I've only learned from them, but judging on what they've taught me and the experiences I've had with them as people, I say go for it!

Hmm??? 10:55 you haven't ever seen one yourself how can you recommend someone else see one? I would suggest if your taking classes in natural medicine you should see one yourself.
I have seen one and I would definitely go back. I really think it depends on what your going to see them for. Expect your first visit to be filled with questions and as the first poster said be HONEST, they do treat the whole body, even something that seems silly could help them figure out some answers.

I was advocating naturopathic doctors as people, as I've known many and have studied from them. I wasn't trying to throw someone blindly into a naturopath's office, so take it easy. I will go myself when I a) have money, since I'm currently in school I am not doing my best financially and b) actually have a need to go, considering I'm in the best health of my life. Why is everyone so hostile on these boards?

Yup. Got a lot of help. Exploring all kinds of things to fix your dis-ease is generally good practice.
