nuts...good or bad?
So I cant decide, are nuts a good or bad food? they are high in fat and calories, but very nutritious...I like having them for snacks, but could that be ruining my diet?

Actually, they are very good for you! You just should try not to eat too many. Keep them plain or dry roasted. You don't need all the added salt and oil. If you like a little extra crunch, roast them in a dry pan. They are a very healthy snack choice for protein.

Just make sure that you control the serving size. If you're eating out of the jar, one serving size doesn't feel like much, and you will overshoot! When I buy nuts, I immediately divide them into serving-size baggies, so I know how much a serving is. One serving will fill you up, but only after you've digested it. They're so dense in calories that, if you eat them until you start feeling fuller, you will ruin your diet on them! In small portions, though, they'll keep you full and are full of great nutrients! I love the idea of roasting them in a dry pan!

A serving size of raw almonds is around 18 almonds, if I remember correctly, and it's around 190 calories.
