Ever Experience This?
Have you ever eaten and after your done feel like your hungry? There are times when I eat a perfectly satisfying and healthy meal and when I'm done I'm hungrier then before I ate. I have tried waiting for my brain to tell my tummy its full but I am still hungry. Just wondering if this is just me or if there are others out there who have felt like this? Any advice on why this happens or how to prevent it?

You know, I've been having a problem lately where I do feel like my belly is full but I still want to eat more. I think it comes from years of stuffing myself to oblivion, like "normal" full just isn't enough.

No, my belly doesn't feel full. Its just what I said above, even though i've eaten my tummy still feels hungry. Sometimes I can even hear it.

You are not alone
I just ate lunch, and I want to eat again, I can feel my tummy starting to grumble. It makes no sense I just ate! I ate a good meal, good portions, I was satisfied and now I want more. I just drink tons of water everytime I start to feel it coming on. Or I drink some tea, or work harder to try to forget about it.

not full
Are you hungry or just not full? I've lived my life always eating because I never felt full. Now I eat just enough to hold me over and it has really helped my diet. Does this make sence?

My little trick
Hello welcome to my life. Sometimes when I feel like that I quickly pop a piece of gum or brush my teeth so that I wont want to put anything else in my mouth...

insulin? carbs?
I wonder if this is one of those insulin things that they (people who study food's effect on the body) seem to be talking about more and more.
It may be only certain types of foods, and I esp. wonder if it is carbs. Not that you should avoid them, unless you're doing a no carb diet, but try to isolate what kinds of foods make you feel this way...

To the insulin carb poster. I am a type 2 diabetic but I am tightly controlled and my blood glucose is in the normal range, I recently stopped taking my meds and am still ok. My doc believes with the weight I've lost diabetes will no longer be an issue, my A1C is normal. I am very careful about my carb and sugar intake and limit my carbs a lot, more then most diabetics because I know the effact of carbs on my body (I gain weight), so I eat good healthy carbs when I eat them. I have always had the feeling on and off over years, even before I was a diabetic and my doctor doesn't think it has anything to do with insulin or carbs.

I know how you feel. Especially after I have eaten a "healthy" breakfast of cereal or oatmeal. I usually get hungry again within a couple of hours. What I have done in the past is drink lots of water or a diet soda. That will keep me until lunch time.

This ALWAYS happens to me when I eat meals that don't have enough fats. It's hard to find a balance between enough fat to stay full and too much, which is fattening... Add a few nuts or a little cheese, you might see a difference!
