I need your help
I read up all your comments about how good your worked out.. and how many hours you'll put in the gym and feel worried if I am doing it right..
I am consulting a weightloss specialist who has devised a diet plan for me.. after calculating my BMI.. I go to his center twice a week for inch-loss machines.. the kinds with vibrations..
And he has asked me to do some brisk walking everyday .. upto 1 hour..
I have lost some weight but now after reading all posts here, I am not sure if I am doing the right thing..

Brisk walking is one of the best exercises ever - it's easy on your joints, you don't need any special equipment, you can start slow and work up to faster very easily, you can do it almost everywhere. So that part sounds great - exactly right.
I'm not sure what you mean about the inch loss machines with vibrations. But especially with weight loss products, you have to watch out for quacks. So do a little research on the web - sites with .edu as their extension are often reputable. Or talk to your regular doctor about the effectiveness of those machines. Beware of any amazing claims like you'll lose 10 inches in 10 weeks. The only true way to lose inches is to lose weight, and we all know that takes a long time!

Agree, brisk walking is good, inch loss machines sound very questionable.

Brisk walking and resistance training will tighten you up and help you lose weight and inches as long as you're eating right. When you say "vibration machine" I'm getting a visual of one of those big belts around your waist strapped to a machine while your whole body vibrates.

Its not actually a belt but there are pads which are connected to an inch loss machine.. they generate vibrations and tanfer to your skin.. I have lost a lot of inches with them..
the results are amazing and many people have benefited... The guy behind this is a doctor himself

Are you talking about something more like electrical shock, pads that make your muscles contract and release over and over for a period of time? They sometimes use something like that to stimulate muscle use in physical therapy. Is there a medical condition why you can't work out?

What is this Dr.'s specialty? I credential doctors for a living, would love to check his license out.

Yes, these vibrators have electrical shocks etc ..
I have been tying to lose weight from the last 5 yrs now and nothing I did seemed to work..
No amount of gym, crash dieting ... nothing.. and now I found this doctor
he has given me a healthy diet and I feel good going for the twice a week vibration sessions...
Barbi-girl, the doctor has donea specialised course in obesity management..
can you check the license out for someone who did this course from Australia??

When I think of vibrating machines, I think of the old fashioned belts that do nothing but make you jiggle. I think thye are having you walk so that you will see results because the vibrating thing does not work. I hope you are not paying big bucks for this.
