I don't really know the answer to your question. I'm curious about this too. I can't say that I remember when I didn't have cellulite but I first recall noticing it after my first child. Currently I am within a couple pounds of my goal weight (135#, 5 5 1/2") and feel quite lean but I still have these little pockets of fat/cellulite right in the "saddle bag" area, as well as a little on the backs of my thighs. So I'm wondering . . . if I lose another 5 pounds what is the chance that it might affect these particular areas since I'm already fairly trim, and am I really willing to keep trying to tweak things?

I don't have personal experience with cellulite, but I know some people say they've gotten rid of cellulite by using exercise videos from Callanetics, Bar Method, and/or Lotte Berk. I believe that Lotte Berk was the founder of this style of exercise and that Callanetics and Bar Method were put out by a couple of her students. Good luck!

Cellulite
I heard on morning radio an author who wrote a book about secrets of models for looking good and one of the things she talked about is Cellulite. It sems most of the effective cellulite creams have caffaine so the models use warm/fresh coffee grind rubbed on the affected area. I don't remember the name of the book or the author but I just wrote to the station. If I hear back I will let you know.

Okay, the coffee ground idea was just wild enough that I had to look around. I did a google search on cellulite and coffee grounds. Sure enough, lots of people seem to recommend it. Whatever. The risk vs. reward seems worth a try.

I used to use this stuff called Nivea Reshaping Treatment (you can buy at grocery stores and such) and it actually worked but you have to be very religious about putting it on everyday and I couldn't keep up with doing it...

Creams, concoctions, body wraps - they don't work. It's hereditary. The best thing you can do is cardio and strength training to minimize the appearance. Also, use a self tanner on those areas, it will look better.

Before I started losing weight I had pretty bad cellulite on my thighs, and no matter how much cardio I did it wouldn't go away. But as soon as I incorporated weight training & Tae Bo (which includes both cardio & strength exercises), I was able to greatly reduce the appearance of the cellulite. The point is to strengthen the muscles underneath your skin (by weight training) and burn off the fat by doing cardio exercises.
I still have some cellulite on my thighs but it's going away with every lower weight training workout and cardio workout.
