I need some outside evaluation on my eating...
I thought I did really well today...but I feel bloated and awful and my digestion is all messed up!
for breakfast I had a pria bar and a large coffee with no sugar.
Lunch was 1/2 a tofu salad sandwich on whole grain bread and a bag of string beans
mid afternoon snack was a rice cake with fake peanutbutter
Dinner was just an atkins bar and some raw veggies and alot of water,
But i feel crappier than I do after eating a burger and fries! someone please tell me what I'm doin wrong!

There's a lot of fiber and raw food in what you ate. Is it gas?

There's also a lot of sodium in the food that you ate - could be water retention if you're feeling bloated. Also, you didn't really eat any fruits or dairy products, and really no "real" food. Eating foods that aren't individually packaged will probably make you feel better (not that the packaging has anything to do with it, just a rule of thumb.) Lean meats with whole grains and fresh fruits/veggies and some dairy is much more balanced.

If it's a radical change in your diet, you have to let your body get used to it. A lot of veggies when you're not used to it can be hard on your system, but it will only be a matter of days before you're used to it.
What's in an Atkin's bar? A lot of those sports bars are, in effect, high calorie candy bars. I guess with Atkin's it prob. doesn't have much sugar (carb), but still, I wonder...

When I used to eat pria bars (low carb) and Atkin bars I would feel like that as well. I figured it was something in them, I know malitol makes me feel like that. Maybe start smaller, eating natural foods that don't have added vitamins or minerals or sugars. Nobody ever got fat eating fruits and veggies and leans meats.

About the buger and fries and feeling better........
The reason you feel better when you eat a buger and fries is b.c it spikes you glycemice level, therefore you have a "elated" or "high" once you eat them, however, like any fatty food, it quickly wears off and leaves you wanting more the next time to get the "feel good" feeling.
However, if you stick to a good, healthy balance ddiet, you will soon feel great in no time!
Best of luck!!

Absolutely agree with the above poster about the glycemic content after a burger and fries. Fast food nation is a riveting documentary and I would highly suggest seeing it if you haven't. Also, rice cakes also have high glycemic content. Also, these "bars" always have me a bit suspicious. They never make me feel good either.

Wasn't Fast Food Nation a book only or did I miss the movie? Or are you talking about the Super Size Me documentary?

2 bars (protein, diet, etc) in one day is probably too many. Especially if you didn't workout. You will feel better and likely lose more weight eating "real" food. You had 2 prepacked items as well as fake peanut butter. You may have been better off with a grilled steak then the atkins bar.
