Ideas for short term rewards

Any ideas for short term rewards that don't cost very much money and don't include food?

Well, having clothes fit you better is the best reward of all, and it's free!!!
An item of new clothing can be quite affordable and will help you love the way you look even more - for me at least, a lot of the motivation for losing weight comes from liking how I look now and wanting to look even better. When I wasn't losing, I also wasn't paying any attention to how I looked at all...i.e., not only was I fat (as I still am) but I also didn't bother too much with make up, hair or new clothes. Now I think these things themselves increase your motivation to lose.

Otherwise, how about treating yourself to a private dance lesson? That can also be about gaining confidence in how you look and move (since you'll be surrounded by mirrors in the studio).

Spoil youself

Treat yourself to a spa day. Get a facial, foot massage, back massage, anything that makes you feel like a princess.

You can find a local spa at the link below

Not that I wouldn't enjoy a day at the spa, but it's not financially an option. I think having old clothes fit me is more up my alley. LOL

How about a new CD? Maybe something upbeat to workout to.

I usually go out and get something, a new belt, or a pair of jeans, or just try on a bunch of clothes so I can admire the new sizes and what I look like in the mirror. Even if you just splurge on one thing, it's really fun.

i would agree with the spa idea. you dont have to go to a spa to get the same result. invite a girlfriend or two over and paint eachothers nails etc. it'll be fun and give you a chance to chit chat.

Try a make up make over. A lot of your large department stores offer them at the make up counter for free. Your local Mary Kay agent will normally do them for you and a friend for free. Also if you have a beauty school in your town try them for a manicure or pedicure. Our local beauty school charges $5 for a manicure and $10 for a pedicure. They do a good job and unlike a bad haircut if you don’t like it you just need polish remover.

My short term goal reward is a pair of shoes. I don't have to worry about them not fitting later (as I would if I bought clothes now, since I still want to lose 30 pounds) and I usually only spend like $20 on them at Payless, so they're way cheap.

New earrings from one of those earring and accessory boutiques (like Claire's Boutique) in the mall -- cheap and fun!
