gift suggestions for my wife for christmas
She uses this site and I can't figure out what to get her. Any ideas? She's fanatic about the treadmill and likes to play golf and doesn't like to diet but does it anyway. We live in San Diego. Thank you.

Can't speak for her, but I have new running shoes on MY list. They wear out so fast! Also synthetic wicking running socks.

New cute workout clothes would be awesome! B/c I can never personally justify the expense when an old t-shirt would do, but I'd love something cute to wear! BUT, if you're getting her something workout-related, make sure to also get her something that tells her that you think she's sexy just how she is - so she doesn't think you're telling her that she needs to work out! So, workout clothes AND some sexy lingerie? But, that depends on what kind of woman she is, and whether she'd appreciate that.

How about something indulgent that she wouldn't normally buy? Maybe a spa package, or just a massage itself is heavenly! Or how about a day to have a personal chef visit? I also second the last poster's comment about cute workout clothes (and something else for the same reason above--maybe a necklace or bracelet, even?)

how about a gift you can enjoy together? like a spa weekend or a visit to a dude ranch? or a weekend hiking in the mountains, spending nights bundled together in a rented cabin? or a day trip out on a boat just relaxing? or a visit w/ dinner to a local winery?

Those shirts like underarmor are really nice. They draw the moisture away from the body. JC Penny sells ST John's Bay Activeware that is a knockoff of it. What about gadgets? Heart rate monitor, ipod, new watch with a stopwatch built in? Also, something cultural - museum membership, symphony tickets, etc. I know that's what's on my list!

If she doesn't have one, buy her an iPod shuffle that she can wrap around her arm while she runs! It hold something like 10,000 songs and you can choose from a bunch of great colors.
I do also like the spa idea. Maybe a day spa that includes a sports massage? Something that celebrates how wonderful it is for her to be doing exercise and healthy eating to be beautiful inside and out. :)

After Christmas, be sure to ask your wife if she saw this thread and added to it!!

why not treat her to a day of fun and golf at Balboa Park? supposed to be great!

I'd also suggest the massage, something nice to pamper herself.

Especially if she loves the treadmill, get her a workoutmouse. I bought one to help me keep up with my fitness training, even on days when I am slammed at my office or its raining. It really works great. I llove the fact that I can be sifting through my inbox to get rid of the junk, and by the time I'm done, I've gotten in all my aerobics for the day. I also use it when I need to do some web research, but don't want to be hunched over my keyboard. I can kick back at my desk, and enter text easily. The hotbuttons for browser, outllook, google, and favorites are easier to use than a conventional mouse. Very cool new product.

My vote is for the massage. I think an ipod would be great too, though they're more expensive, depends on your budget. Great idea to come in here and get some suggestions. I also want to reinforce the message that an earlier poster gave you - make sure that whatever you give her doesn't imply that you think she's fat and needs to lose weight. We hate that - as I'm no doubt sure you've already discovered, at least my husband has when he's accidently blundered into that minefield. Whatever you get her I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear that you went to this effort to try to find something she'd like.

If you were my husband I would want:
1. The massage!!!
2. A trip to somewhere romantic for the two of us
3. Really good dark chocolate
4. A day at the salon
5. A good book
6. A letter from you describing how much I mean to you
7. A new gym membership for next year
...you know, just in case this is my husband. And I hope this helps even if you're not. haha.

OP here. Thank you. These suggestions have been most helpful. I have decided to go with a spa day, maybe I'll even partake in the day as well, at the suggestion of both of us being together. I think she'd like that. I think I'll ask her if she stumbled upon this thread after the gift giving! Hopefully not, I believe she might recognize my writing style.
Thank you again peertrainers (I'm unsure as to what you all call yourselves). I see why she spends time here. A valuable resource indeed.

You may want to add a heart monitor to your luist if she doesn't have one

Second on the heart monitor if she's a runner. I prefer the polar brand.
