New Years Goals?
Any interesting New Years goals? I am thinking beyond myself for this year, and will be focusing on my contribution to my family. Making sure my wife is super happy, that my kids are getting the attention they need. Now that I am taking better care of myself, I can take better care of others. I have had a very successful year on on PT.

Can I give you my husband's phone number?
He'd do well to hear what you have to say! : )

My biggest new years goal is to quit smoking! It is really interfering with my work-outs. I am really going to do it this time. I have only serioulsy tried to quit one other time.

to the 3:02 poster, now that I have some hindsight, I feel it is pretty selfish not to take care of yourself when you have a family. Just takes work.

My goal is to keep the weight I have lost off and remain at my goal for the entire next year!!! I never want to start from square one again!

I quit smoking for new year's 2 years ago. Best thing I've ever done for myself, including weight loss! The key to success: find a reason that works for YOU! My health and my wallet weren't reason enough. I quit because I saw my then 3-yr-old daughter practicing smoking with a toy spoon. She wanted to look just like Mommy! That really got to me! After that, it wasn't hard to quit at all. I have not had one cigarette since.

Thank you, OP.
I always you can only do 4 goals at a time so here are mine:
1. pay off my debt by June, 2007
2. Spend at least one quality day a week with my family, doing something fun, in the outdoors
3. Lose the last 15 pounds!
4. Have fun at some point every day

1) Find out why low-cal high-exercise isn't working, fix the problem, and shed the last 50 lbs
2) Go out on a date [a real one, not a fake one that I bartered for just to say I kept my New Year's resolution...that's cheating, and I'm guilty of it this year]
3) See at least one new country, preferably one with a Wonder of the World
4) Write a novel or start training for a new job (I'm bored)
5) Find a social outlet to counteract my hermit tendencies

I don't normally make New Year's resolutions. My goal in life is if there is something I want to do, why should I wait till January 1 to implement it. I guess my resolution for this year would be to continue going strong with my new healthy lifestyle in this new year.
