menstrual bloat = inches???

In a fit of consternation about not losing weight despite my daily hour-long cardio sessions, I decided to measure myself to see if I had made any improvements. And I gained an inch in my waist!! I'm on day 3 of my cycle--could it be that I am still carrying excess fluid? Anyone else experience this? And if it is water weight, about what point in the cycle does it go away? Thanks!

I have noticed that I am considerably bloated the few days before my period and the first few days. I have never measured, but I know my pants are a little tigher. I think that everyone is a little different. Have you noticed this before, or is this the first time?

I started measuring in March, and was astonished to find that on days when I "feel fat" I really AM bigger around than on days when I "feel skinny." I'd always thought that fat days were in my head.

gaining inches during your period is super common!! i sometimes find that clothes that fit really comfortably on most days are too tight and hard to button during my period! you are not alone!

I wouldn't weigh or measure during period time, because it's water weight and a few days after your period is a better time to do that. I know it can be discouraging , but it's not accurate measurement.

I have a terrible time with bloat. I finally consulted my gynecologist and he prescribed me a diuretic to help with the bloating. It's really helped me feel better (I would also get horrific cramping, too. :-( For me, anyways, I can gain 3-4 lbs (of just fluid!) during my period!
