DVD
I love the Walk Away the Pounds dvd collection by Leslie Sansone. They are fun and energetic and the time goes so fast you don't even realize you have walked 2 miles or 3 miles.

I heard that the push.tv dvds are good but I haven't tried them. I remember someone posting about them and liking them a lot.

I love my old school TaiBo. The but workout is great! I also use the windsor pilates on days when I want a relaxing workout. I don't really work up a sweat but I can feel my muscles and have great posture afterwards. Helps with the stomach region because all of the moves work your "core"

The FIRM!!!! All the way. Best workout DVDs in my opinion. Combines strength training with cardio. Will kick your butt.

Anything from Beachbody.com. You've probably seen their infomercials on tv for Slim in 6 or Power 90. I did Slim in 6, I've had great results from Project You, and now i'm doing Turbo Jam. Take a look at their before and after pictures on the website, it really convinced me the first time.

my favorite dvds
I like the Firm but my 40+ yo knees can't take it too often (hover squats are a killer on my joints). I love Gin Miller- the old Step Reeboks are always fun and she is such a kick (I don't think these are available on DVD). I especially like the interval work. You will see your butt shrink and legs tighten up with these. And time really flies with her.

please, please add some punctuation! I had to twist my poor old brain in knots to understand what you were saying. (Only to find I had nothing to add to help you anyway...I don't even own a DVD player...sorry.)

I also like the FRIM, but agree it's rough on your knees. I'm young and can't do it more than twice a week!

These are 10 min workouts, that really work you out. I've really noticed a difference in my muscle tone w/ these, and it does abit of cardio as well

Charlie Brooks' workout (she of the evil Janine from Eastenders) is really tough, not patronising, and good fun. Cannot say enough times how good this is.

I like Pilates for Weight Loss and I just picked up Billy Blanks 3-pack TaeBo workouts a few days ago. I've only done one workout so far but I am still feeling it in my muscles (3 days later). So I think it will be effective.
Also, the way he does it is that he has you do the moves sort of slowly for the first couple reps then he "AMPS" it up and you do the same moves really fast. So you are doing so many different moves, working so many different muscle groups all in a 30-40 minute workout. It's also cardio so that's good too.

I like every 10-Minute Solutions Video that I've purchased. I just rented a bunch of them on Netflix to see what other ones I like.

I love walk away the pounds dvd collection by Leslie Sansone also. I have two of them...3 fast miles and the 5 mile dvd. I have the walk belt, 2 pound hand weights, and the band. I also join up with several other ladies on Tuesdays and Thursdays to walk with the same videos.

I like Tahitian Hip Hop by Kili from Natural Journeys. My favorite!!! Of course, Tae Bo is incredible. I just bought a Bollywood DVD, I'll let you know if I like it.

For a great strength training workout try Jari Love - You'll really burn! She emphasizes low weights and lots of reps, so it is better for people who have joint issues. May be too much if you do no strength training now, though she encourages you to do as much as you can, and watch the improvement! Start with the "Get Ripped" - it's the simplest one. I've been doing weights for a while, but have really seen improvement since starting her program.

10-Minute Trainer!
I have been doing Tony Horton's 10-Minute Trainer from Beachbody.com for 1 month and the payoff is huge! There are five 10-minute workouts and they each kick your butt! I do 3 a day for best results. There's cardio, lower body, total body, abs and yoga. Coupled with weightwatchers I have lost 10 lbs and 12.5 inches in the past just more than a month. The nice thing is that the workouts are short and if you need to ease into it you can just do one a day, anybody can manage 10 minutes and he is always switching up the techniques so just as you're getting spent it switches to the next thing. I love it! (and I also hate it because it's hard)

The Firm - hands down! It all depends on your age, any injuries, fitness level, ect. These videos will kick your ass! I am an aerobic instructor&weight trainer. I have done alot of different exercise types and so far The Firm has been the most effective and challenging.

Leslie Sansone & Petra Kolber
I ditched the gym and bought dvds instead... I like Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds a lot! Working myself to 3 miles! From my Weight Watchers kit Petra Kolber does a great job too with a variety of exercises to choose from. I alternate daily between the videos.

I love the urban rebounder and DVD set to exercise. Low impact on joints great cardio, FUN . I am 60 yrs old and it sure brings back the kid in me. The series of dvd's offer all types of ways to work out and with the resistance bands and stablizing bar I can work out easliy. Reults are great to much easier than going to the gym.

I too am a fan of Jari Love's "Ripped" DVDs - I've seen a huge difference in my body and my energy level since I've started doing them !

Workout dvd's
I love Billy Blanks Bootcamp. I used to workout in a boxing gym but it was getting too expensive. These dvd's are a great alternative! I also enjoy the Windsor pilates.

I love workout DVDs. I've got a gym membership but DVDs are great for when I don't feel like going. Right now I favor:
Cathe - great step video/kickboxing
Amy Petterson (or something similar) - kickboxing
Jari Loe - Get Ripped - very good weight lifting
Jillian Michaels - not terribly hard but effective
The Firm 500 calorie workout - great workout
I used to love Billy Blanks but his DVDs are not what they used to be. Tae Bo Advanced I and II were AMAZING!

Hi.
I have also ditched the gym, and I love working out to DVDs at home. I have Leslie Sansone's Express Workout DVD. Great low impact workout. I also do weights, pilates, and yoga at home.

GOOD WORKOUT DVDS.
I have been using the Biggest Loser Cardio Max and Power Sculpt dvds since the begginning of the year. They work great for me. You can do the 6 week program and then you customize which ones you want to do when you are finished. I also have started alternating the cardio max and the p90x cardiox dvds every other day. I do cardio on mon, wed, fri and sculpt and run on my treadmill on tues, thu, sat. I have the day off sunday unless i choose to go some slight yoga for 20 minutes.

I have P90X and love it! Alot of my clients like the walk away the pounds. I reviewed it and if you have a busy schedule, kids in the house, or whatever it really is great.
