Constructive PT wish list...

Sometimes it would be nice to be able to delete old threads from Team Community. Example, personal threads of x-members. Or to be able to delete our own personal threads to start fresh. Just to keep things uncluttered.

what is a personal thread of an ex-member?

personally, i don't think any threads should be deleted-you never know who may be able to extract helpful info from one of them. Yes some are annoying and it gets tiresome seeing the same ones come back all the time-but it's really not right to delete them.

OP, do you mean the comments that appear in our groups and teams or do you mean thread on the community discussion board?

I would like to have the ability to delete or edit my own posts to the comments area of my team/group. If I make a typing error or mean to whisper and I pick the wrong person, I would like to be able to correct that.
Also, in our Team Community area, I would like to be able to delete or edit threads as well.

how bout some generic workouts - 5 k training plan, 10 k training plan, tris for beginners, to give some guidance to those who don't know where to start?

OP here...

threads on the community discussion board. Members had set up personal thread for 21-day challenges. Some of the members have since left the team, so the threads are 'dead.'

PT Admin

So, PT. I presume you're making plans for quite an influx of new users in the New Year. Are there any changes coming in anticipation of this? (whether it be with design/layout, new features, or a change in policy). I suggested a few months ago that it would be great to have a specific place to enter liquid intake as that seems to be a major part of a lot of people's plans here. As it is, I enter mine on the snack section.

Also, a lot of people tend to keep running columns in their goal section to track weekly/monthly loss. These get pretty unwieldly for those with little time or no experience with code. It would be great to have a couple of cut-and-paste tables we could use for anything from weight lifted to weight lost.

Just a couple of thoughts. Anyone else have any ideas, or things they think would make PT even better?

Edit Comments

Once again I will put in my plug for the ability to EDIT my comments in my team or group sections or even on the community board. Sometimes we have a typo or leave something out or mess up somewhere and instead of editing it and keeping it to just one comment, we have to comment again and say Oops/Sorry/Forgot, etc....it makes the comments area look junky. Being able to edit would be a fantastic feature!

Suggestions

I really like the suggestions made by other members.I think the whole cut/paste tables would be a great idea because it would save a lot of time and be very easy/useful for new members. Also, I get daily logs emailed to me, would it be possible to put all of the daily logs from peertrainer into one email? Also in terms of pictures, would it be possible to have more then just before/after pictures, could we have a spot for "during" pictures.

To the 11:29 am poster - how would you recommend using code to keep running columns in our goals section? I've enjoyed learning to use code to change fonts, etc. I want to learn more!

I'd like the Spotlight Group to be more spotlight-y! Really turn up the heat, you know? Do a group-at-a-glance page that lets you know how the members are doing each day or week. And make the group smaller. 16 people is too many to keep track of.

Dropping people from Teams

I believe this has been mentioned before in different threads, but recently it has been bothering me a lot. I am on two teams and both teams have 30 - 50 members, however, there are members listed who haven't logged anything in almost a year! Probably well over half the people on each team do not regularly log...and by regularly, I mean at least once a week!!!
I would like to see them off the team if they aren't participating...it isn't helping me or supporting me and it sure isn't helping or supporting them! I know PT drops people from groups if they don't log...I think it should be the same for teams. It is certainly easier to find and join a team, so I think it would be fine to drop them and they could rejoin whenever they want.

What about dropping public logs that aren't being updated? I know of at least one public log where the owner/user hasn't updated it since June. There are others that also haven't been updated in months. There are lots of logs and I resent having to page through these 'dead' logs to get to the ones I want to read.

How about a warning that if you don't post for 3 months your log becomes dormant and moves to a 'dormant' section. In other words, it isn't deleted but the rest of us wouldn't have to deal with it. Then after another 3 or 6 or N months of inactivity, delete the log completely.

Providing concrete suggestions on how to make the site easier to navigate still seems pretty constructive to me. I'm sure that anyone who takes the time to think of and post a detailed suggestion does actually want to make peertrainer the best and most user-friendly site that it can possibly be.

4:04, did you know that the first page of "logs/blogs" displays profiles in the order of recently updated? that way you don't have to scroll thru the letter page. (don't know if this makes sense, someone pls explain better!)

separate entry boxes in the log for weight, calories, ounces of water, WW points, servings of veggies - or whatever else people generally track on a daily basis. we could check off a box in our preferences for which stats we want included in our log so we don't have the ones we don't need.

also - let the "join me" button include teams, not just groups. or, let people see a list of groups and teams you belong to.

4:54pm - you're right. if you just click on logs/blogs and don't bother clicking any of the letters to sort them by, they automatically appear in order of recently posted logs.

1. That the calendar on the left-hand side of the log would indicate which dates have log entries (by shading or by the numbers being a different colors).

2. A weight tracker that would let you plug in your weight over time and would give you a graph to chart your progress.

3. Some fun trackers for different types of workouts - e.g. walking/running, weight work, etc. For example, a walking, running tracker that plots the distance you've gone across the country.

I would like to see an easier navigation system for group comments. Perhaps a page indicator would work better than being limited to going forward/backward one page at a time. Or, have comments sectioned out in months.

Construction PT wishes list is sometimes that would be nice to delete a thread from team community. Example is here for the personal thread that is able to delete in the dissertation writing services reviews with the personal fresh start to do the motivation.
