any splenda addicts?

I am totally addicted to splenda. I was just wondering if their were any others who use it or have info on it. I've done my research and aside from being harmful in huge doses it seems pretty ok? I feel like maybe it bloats me a bit? any other experiences?

I have just been reading about side effects of chronic indigestion, headaches and fatigue using Splenda. I didn't use it yet today. I am going to cut it and see if it makes a difference for me, as I am having these problems myself.

It has only been in recent months that I have been using spenda and products with splenda, so we shall see - maybe a coincidence, maybe not. I have had indigestion, felt weak, had lots of belching, fatigue and a feeling of fullness.

As of this morning, I quit the Splenda and strangely I am already feeling better. Today has been the best day in months just skippng my morning Splenda. We will see if it turns out to be psychological. Regardless, I have already tossed every Splenda product in my house.

Anyway, I recently had and Upper GI and now am going in for a gall bladder scan. I had done an internet search this morning before breakfast on the keywords "Splenda Indigestion." Here is one of the links that got me thinking my problems might be from using Splenda...

Well, I will be none too happy if all my recent indigestion grief is due to ingesting a couple of packets of Splenda a day. I will be responsible for 20% of these tests.

Today when speaking to my hubby about it he said neither he nor his sister could tolerate it due to it causing them indigestion, too.

I have two spenda packets every workday with my 1 cup of coffee (OK, maybe two on rough days). I've never experienced any issues. I love the taste compared to other sweetners. Some people must have a low tolerance for it, and I have a high tolerance.

4:41 - thanks for the link! I have many of the symptoms, and have been experiencing them since I started dieting (and replacing sugar with Splenda). I chalked it up to the change in diet and exercise habit, but I will try the experiment!

My husband used Splenda for a couple of weeks and experienced indigestion and bloat. Said it felt like he had a a melon in his tummy and he lost his appetite. He was thinking of going to the doctor, until one day he forgot his Splenda packets. That day without Splenda, he felt much better. He quit the Splenda and started feeling good again. He doesn't use any of the substitute sweeteners now. He uses honey in his tea instead.

Tons of Splenda

I use about 8-12 packets a day and don't have any problems. I guess I'm just lucky but I do worry about long-term side effects....

Just curious... there is no way that it could cause weight GAIN right? its definitely 0 calorie? because I use like 25 packets a day...and although I need to cut back because I worry about the long term effects.. I'm trying to use it to wean off regular sugar but I dont feel like I can trust it completely. I feel like maybe I'm gaining? Could it be bloat that I'm experiencing or maybe does it cause water retention? the scale has gone up slightly in the past few weeks...ut my clothes fit just the same. I dunno...I hope its not too good to be true

I'm a diabetic and have been using splenda for years now with no side effects. My husband can't tolerate it though.

Splenda Scares Me

I just read this article and think I am going to get rid of my Splenda I have at home. Mainly I use it in my morning coffee and carry packets in my purse for use at reataurants for coffee or ice tea. My Mom works at a hospital told me that it may not be safe and she said to just use sugar, so maybe mother knows best?

I like splenda. I try to only drink water now, though, so it has siginficantly cut down my splenda intake. I will drink flavored water, that has splenda in it. I don't like to take the flavored water to my workouts though. Also, I will make Kool-Ade (something I've lived on most of my life) and not use sugar at all. Then add the splenda by the cup when I am craving something sweet.
