Plan B
Have any of you ever taken Plan B (emergency contraception)? If so, did you suffer from any side effects?
Just had to take it today (the condom slipped off) and I'm just wondering what I'm in for.

You may have some cramping and nausea. Try not to stress too much about it-that will only add to any discomfort you may (and I emphasize "may") experience.

I had to take it once before, and did not experience any side effects. I think it depends on the person. I have heard of people who had the side effects that pp listed.

I've taken it and I didn't have any side effects either. Good luck. I was glad I did and didn't take any chances.

i had some pretty bad anxiety and some bowel issues when i took it. nothing that lasted beyond a day or two-the peace of mind i had afterwards made any discomfort worth it!

I took it once and had no side affects at all. Mostly, I was irritated that the elderly doctor who was on call when I called for a prescription had never heard of it and I had to explain it to him so he could call in the Rx.

Op here - I haven't really felt any side effects at all, so that was good.
For those of you that felt mood changes or anxiety, you're probably sensitive to progestin, the hormone in Plan B - it can greatly alter moods and cause anxiety in certain people.
I'm just so glad that this is available so we can insure our protection when things don't quite go as planned!

Just so i dont have to create a new thread...
I took it about 8 hours after the act which took place 2 days after the end of my period. I was told I might experience spotting before my next period. However, about 3-4 days after I took Plan B, I got what I believe was my period for about 5-6 days. Should I follow my regular cycle, or start counting from the end of the 5-6 days of the last time i got what i believe was my period?
I say "I believe it was my period" because it was a little darker than my regular period...and lighter as well. The 'lightness' may have been due to the fact that it had been one week since my last period. Alot to take in at once I know....

4:50pm: I would suggest going on the pill to regulate your cycle and avoid any future headaches. But if you're against it I'd check with your gyn.

I took it once (about a week after my cycle had ended) and I got what seemed to be my period all over again as well. crazy! but, it says right in the information that it can cause irregularity in your periods.
I would ask your physician about when you should be counting from. My thought was that since the Plan B is to prevent an egg from implanting, it triggered my period to start again.
