EMAIL THREAD
Blog Censorship!
Peer Trainer is censoring this list - removing threads with active discussions!
Mon. Oct 16, 11:25am
I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about. Would you elaborate please? Thanks!
Monday, October 16, 2006, 11:26 AM
yeah, they do that
Monday, October 16, 2006, 11:37 AM
what thread are you talking about?
Monday, October 16, 2006, 11:44 AM
I'm not following. Are they censoring community threads or people's blogs? I've seen some pretty heated threads here, so their censorship must be fairly lenient...?
Monday, October 16, 2006, 11:45 AM
which threads have been removed? new ones or old ones? you've piqued my curiosity...
Monday, October 16, 2006, 11:51 AM
yeah, I'm looking for a fight this morning and can't find it hahahaha.
Monday, October 16, 2006, 12:02 PM
We can start one. What is a good subject to fight about?
Monday, October 16, 2006, 12:06 PM
to the oct. 16, 1202 poster
it's people like you who make reading these threads a horrible experience. why can't we all just get along?!!! and the poster after you who wants to contribute a topic to fight about-shame, shame...
(okay, i'm game for a little post-weekend fight, too! hahahaha)
Monday, October 16, 2006, 12:13 PM
things to fight about on PT:
Politics
breast (im)plants
whether it's better to be nice or honest
spelling
Monday, October 16, 2006, 12:23 PM
i really do not appreciate censorship and i especially do not like the removal of a comment. is there a place on this site that lays out the "rules" for what's acceptable as a topic or comment? if not, maybe there should be.
Friday, October 27, 2006, 12:14 PM
Thank you PT.
I DO appreciate censorship. Some people don't know how conduct themselves with class.
Friday, October 27, 2006, 2:32 PM
true, some people don't...but others are able to read a comment without NEEDING something to be done about it...it's a COMMENT, not anything that can bite you. you may even learn to tolerate others' perspectives if you continue to be exposed to them. "i may not agree with what you say, but i will fight to my death for your right to say it." and then we'll remove it....
Friday, October 27, 2006, 2:42 PM
Here's another topic that continues to repeat itself on the Community page.
Friday, October 27, 2006, 5:24 PM
Also...this is not a "blog." This is the "Community Page." A Blog is your own personal web log. Are you saying that PeerTrainer is censoring your own personal web log?
Friday, October 27, 2006, 5:25 PM
Friday, October 27, 2006, 5:25 PM - Thank you for clarifying that. I don't know why people think that having rights means they are entitled to be rude, crude, selfish and insensitive. Tact and skill in communication is becoming a lost attribute for many.
Saturday, October 28, 2006, 8:54 AM
I hear what you are saying, but the benefits still outweigh the costs in this system. For the most part, peopel are on here talking about very personal issues about their weight. For a lot of people, including myself, that's a hard thing to talk about if your name is attached to it because there is so much shame involved in it. I like having a place to go where I can admit that I just ate half a bag of candy and know that nobody is going to know it's me.
Monday, October 30, 2006, 8:23 AM
this is again a relevant topic, unfortunately.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 10:29 AM
how so?
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 10:38 AM
Read the "What Works?" thread...apparently something was soooo offensive that it was deleted yesterday. I wish they'd also deleted the all-caps shouting post that's really just a whine.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 12:09 PM
If rudeness was the actual ground, half the posts on this board in various threads would be deleted. I don't buy it.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 12:28 PM
This has happened more than once, and not with new posters. The new poster should have been equally reminded that shouting is not tolerated.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 12:36 PM
amen!! there were actual comments made TO me about my comments. i was not rude, i was direct. i meant no harm. some of the other posters deliberately posted comments just to berate me. get a life. this censoring has ultimately driven me away. and you can bet that rude comments, or at least those deemed rude, will continue to appear.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 12:44 PM
"are you kidding me" is not just direct. It is rude. Some people defend themselves against rude people. I think it's best to ignore them, but I don't blame anyone for shouting at or berating rude people.
I think it was perfectly acceptable for PT to remove that post.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 12:53 PM
is that supposed to be a polite way of asking me to leave? i wonder if your comment will remain or be deleted?
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 12:53 PM
Me Too
I had a comment deleted one time too. I was quite shocked as I did not believe it was offensive in any way. It certainly wasn't meant to be. It was a thread about things people hate. I said I hate people who push their religion on others. I mentioned a particular group of people who do that (which I think is why the comment was deleted). I was saying I hated the behavior of trying to force beliefs on others; not the people or religion itself. Apparently, it hit a hot button with one of the PT reviewers and it was deleted. I hardly ever post anymore but wanted to comment on this thread and I know from personal experience they do delete comments on the community threads. I don't think they do that on personal logs but I don't know that.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 1:06 PM
I have also had a comment deleted some weeks ago which shocked me. It was not mean spirited nor was it targeting a group or individual. It was direct.

"this censoring has ultimately driven me away"
Yet you keep coming back to read and post. I agree with the 12:51 poster - if you're going to say it's driven you away, you're proving that all you're still here for is to continue stirring the pot.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 5:01 PM
hey guys does anybody know of any promotional codes which i could use to purchase turbo jam?
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 5:07 PM
this is why women don't run the world. They bitch and bitch, and then bitch when someone tries to limit the bitching. Men butt heads, then move on. Women nurture the insults and carry them with them.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 5:10 PM
This is the weirdest flow of conversation I've ever seen on this page. This is funny to read just to see what people will say next.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 5:16 PM
5:10, love the man/woman insights. You are obviously either a man who isn't a "real" man, like those you describe, who can move on and not keep posting on a thread like this, or a woman who just likes to hear herself bitch.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 9:31 PM
it is really funny (in a good way!) that the person looking for a turbo jam promo came to this thread ... "like, oh, everyone is over there, talking about censorship, I'll ask them this question" the hell with threads, let's have on long rambling conversation ....
I was wondering about the master cleanse myself ...
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 9:58 PM
LOL
very funny
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 10:46 PM
Using the word censorship immediately gives a negative spin. I support the PT moderators in removing rude and unfriendly comments etc, and their efforts to build a positive environment.
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 11:12 PM
but what do you think about breast implants?
Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 11:37 PM
I have them! And they look FABULOUS...
Thursday, December 21, 2006, 12:05 AM
my favorite thing on pT is when I'm in a group, and someone joins but they never log ... it's sort of spooky
Thursday, December 21, 2006, 7:50 PM
yes it is spooky, I'm always happy when they get kicked out especially when they take someones spot who you want back in !
Thursday, December 21, 2006, 10:58 PM
Excuse me, but could we PLEASE stick to one topic? Let's get back to boobies, if you don't mind. I swear, some people just have no priorities...
Friday, December 22, 2006, 1:38 PM
I love this thread, guys! LMAO
Friday, December 22, 2006, 1:51 PM
person who was baffled about dissappearing posts - FYI
Monday, February 5, 2007, 7:36 PM
LOL, this is very funny, I want to join in. Lets talk about, religion, politics and the Bush admin, that should rile up some fight, hell lets talk about how Bush is politically hurting religion, lol!!!
Thats a joke for those of you who take this so seriously
Monday, February 5, 2007, 8:21 PM
Yeah. This link was taken off yesterday because someone who surely didn't read it used the "s" word (rhymes with pam). It's an hilarious look at "diet" meal cards of the past and not inappropriate in the slightest. Actaully gave me a good laugh when I was feeling down. A bit sad that it was removed.

Tuesday, February 6, 2007, 5:24 AM
Yeah,
pt messed up on that one. That link is hilarious. They took off the What Works thread? I LOVED that thread!. (not shouting there, just emphasizing. Would have italicised if I could have)
mariarose
Wednesday, February 7, 2007, 3:08 AM
OMG that is funny! And they didn't even go for the obvious joke about the salmon mousse!
Someone ought to e-mail PT and beg them to re-post the link prominently.
Wednesday, February 7, 2007, 6:31 AM
I posted the question - "who is PT?" and PT deleted it ... twice.
Why?
Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 2:11 PM
Who would win in a fight - superman or batman?
Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 4:27 PM
Superman, no question.
Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 4:37 PM
Interesting ... I once asked how many members there were on PT and got the same response.
So, I guess that is how the people who make money from the advertising on PT respond to legitimate questions about this website.

Thursday, May 24, 2007, 12:30 PM

Reinstate My Log
Monday, July 14, 2008, 9:55 AM
which is your favorite?
I don't have a clue why this thread was revived. It is ancient. I checked the bottom few postings and it doesn't make a bit of sense (ok I am bored and wasting my time reading senseless threads).
HOWEVER, I have to point out this link that was included from about a year and a half ago (reposted below). Too funny. Scary food we eat when we are "dieting." These cards are from the 70's but we have present day equivalents in the freezercase at the grocery store.
What's your own personal fave? Mine are the gelatinized wonders. Check out the liver!...and the hotdog tower (oops, no gelatin in that one as far as I can tell).
Really, scroll to the bottom of the page and do the whole slide show.
I HAVE to go do something useful now.

what does bump mean?
these threads are very entertaining....better than bingeing to escape... :()
