spinach and safety!
i see spinach is back on the shelves in markets. do you think it is safe to eat?

i agree that it is probably fine. at least as fine as anything else you might buy...a recall could occur at any moment for any product, really. i think the industry has been put on alert to be extra careful, so i would guess that they would not reintroduce the spinach to the market if they had any idea that it might still be harmful.

I may not be eating spinach from Salinas, CA, but I will definitely eat it! OHHH how I have missed my spinach and pear salads, spinach in pasta, sauteed spinach, spinach on sandwhiches.....
I need to go buy some spinach!!!

They found out which company supplied the infected spinach, so what's on the shelf is not from that farm. The FDA website says that outbreaks have happened before & could happen again. It also says if you cook spinach at at 160 degrees for 15 seconds will kill the E. Coli.
