How do you measure...?
Pardon me if I sound like a moron, but how do you take measurements? Do you just measure the widest part of whatever it is - arms, thighs, etc.? And how do you do your waist? Sucked in? Pushed out? Just relaxed?
I've never been measured for anything (except my dance costumes when I was little). Thanks for any help!

You know what, thank you for asking because I have the biggest problem figuring out how to measure my waist. Are you supposed to measure at your bellybutton level or at the thinnest part, like where the middle of the "hourglass" is?

hourglass?
where do you measure if you have a snow-globe belly? : )

I've been looking around for the answer. One I've found is stand up, then bend sideways. Where the crease appears in your side, that's where to measure your waist. It seems to be right over the protruding part of the hip bone. I'm guessing you measure it like you would for a pair of pants, relaxed, not holding your breath.
I'm guessing the rest of the body measurements would be at the thickest part. I hope some other knowledgeable folks chime in...

well, i guess it doesn't really matter where you measure as long as you keep measuring in the same place from week to week. i mean, you just want to make sure you're getting smaller, right?
well, that's what i want anyway. : )

measurements!
i worked at a gym where i did measurements for awhile, so here's what i know, or at least what we did!
bust: put tape around the fullest part of the chest
waist: bend from side to side and that's your natural waist
abdomen: fullest part of the somach and measure level around the body
hips: feet together, and it's below the ab measure, almost just above legs
thighs: fullest part, up by your crotch basically!
calves: fullest part, usually an inch or two below knee
amrs: hold arm out like you're going to flex and find the largest part, wrap tape around and then bring arm down to side
ALL MEASUREMENTS SHOULDN'T BE TIGHT OR LOOSE, JUST LAYING ON THE SKIN COMFORTABLY!
Good luck! :)
