I just went emotional eating crazy... :(
My car just got towed at school and i had to pay $110 which I can't afford and it took me forever to find a way to go get my car. It made me so upset because there weren't any no parking signs! I ate a whole 3 musketeer and a chocolate cookie. :( I feel so guilty

hey, a candy bar and a cookie aren't THAT bad-you can make up for it tomorrow w/ a little extra exercise! your emotional eating could have been a lot worse if you were someone who tends to binge during stress. hang in there-stop beating yourself up and everything w/ your car will end up working out! things always do eventually!

OP here, just an update....my dad drove the 45 minutes to come take me to the place since no one else I know has a car. The guy at the impound was really nice and explained everything and it only ended up being $100 bucks which is less than I thought. Next time I should get on here before I whip out the chocolate. Speaking of which does anyone have any other suggestions to stopping emotional eating?

Figure out what you need that you are feeding with food. Determine the emotion, and find another behavior to replace the eating. Are you angry? Get out your agression through a brisk walk or punch a pillow. Are you lonely? Call someone and vent, or just get a hug. Are you confused? Write your feelings in a journal (or on your log). Take a long shower and think. Sit and meditate. Get in the car and go for a long drive. Maybe you are tired - take a nap and see how you feel afterward.
