Writing down daily goals in my notes

I had not been eating enough veggies each day, so yesterday after a meat heavy lunch I wrote in my notes that I "Plan on eating a ton of veggies tonight."

After I wrote that, I forgot about it, and did not log until this morning. I was going over my log for yesterday and writing down my dinner and I realized that I had bought a big amount of yellow squash last evening as I was shopping (that I love in the summer), and eaten it for dinner.

Maybe it was total coincidence, but I wonder if me writing down my goal put that goal in my subconcious, and led me to buy and eat the squash for dinner.
