If I had the body and the face and they could airbrush me to look beautiful......absolutely, in a second! :)
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 12:09 PM
No - I wouldn't want my friends and family to get wind of it, nor am I up for keeping big, huge secrets from them for the rest of their lives. My parents in particular would be incredibly hurt that their little girl needs to take her clothes off in front of millions of masturbating men to feel pretty. I'm not saying that's how it is, but that's how they would interpret it and they would be emotionally devastated that they had failed to help me feel like the strong, beautiful girl they believe I am. And, well, I don't need to take my clothes off for millions of people to feel pretty. More power to your friend because I'm guessing she doesn't see it that way, but I do, so that's my main reason. That and being squicked out by the thought of some stranger masturbating to my picture - that thought just grosses me right out.
These are my personal opinions - I'm not telling your friend what to do - I'm not telling anyone what to do. This is simply how I feel about the prospect of personally doing such a thing myself.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 12:15 PM
i would like to be considered hot enough to be in playboy . . .but i don't think i would actually pose for pictures! haha! but the consideration would be nice!
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 12:57 PM
I agree with the above poster. I would love to be considered to do it but I don't think I would follow through... I don't know, it would be pretty cool...
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 1:02 PM
I wouldn't pose nude for playboy, but I would wear the bunny suit.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 1:03 PM
No.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 1:06 PM
I wouldn't pose fully nude (if I could wear lingerie or something) then I would consider it.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 1:18 PM
HECK YES. IN A HEARTBEAT! BUT THEY WOULD NEED ALOT OF AIRBRUSHING !!!!
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 2:05 PM
No because my family would frawn upon it.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 2:30 PM
what if you could pose for, say, French Playboy (if there is such a magazine). and it would be published only overseas. would you pose then? or is it the fact of being nude that is bothersome?
-liane
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 2:39 PM
Yes, I think it would be fun to look back on it, and remember that I took a chance. But then again, I am willing to try anything once.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 2:40 PM
Yes, if I was hot enough. But this is starting to sound like market research.
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 3:00 PM
In my younger days, yes. Now, no.
BTW, I didn't have the body then and I still don't have the body now!
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 3:19 PM
it may sound like that, but i can assure you it is not. i am very curious about people's perspectives on this and it's not the kind of thing to just casually bring up over lunch w/ co-workers. and i don't have a lot of friends with different perspectives about this. i appreciate the responses!!
-liane
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 3:21 PM
the comment i just made refers to the market research post...
-liane
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 3:22 PM
I would totally pose for French Playboy! :) Maybe that will be my new goal!!!!
Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 7:11 PM
My own goal at the moment is to get a flat enough tummy to be able to wear a belly ring. Whether I would or not, is another matter...
In regards to Playboy--It would be great to have a "hot body", but I am far to modest to pose nude in front of anyone but my hubby. I don't think having a nice body would change my mind in that regard--I guess it's because of how my parents brought me up....
That is not to say that I don't like wearing cute clothing--If I had a nice enough body, I wouldn't mind wearing a bikini. even though you are mostly uncovered in a bathing suit, it's still not the same as being nude. (To me, anyways!)
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 12:00 AM
No.For moral reasons.I think even though a woman has a beautiful body it should be respected and admired by her mate or boyfriend and not drooled over for the price of a magizine. It is so cheap and degrading.
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 1:58 AM
1:58 poster
I 100% agree with you. I couldnt have said it better myself
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 2:00 AM
I do't understand how a woman can be so full of herself as if to say hey look at me and not give any thought to what some creepy pervert is doing with that magizine.EEEWWWWWWW!
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 2:08 AM
I would definitely do it!
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 9:56 AM
2:08 Poster
It's a COMPLIMENT if a guy is jerking off to your picture or even thinking of you while he does it. It means you look HOT and are attractive and desirable. Sex is not bad.....relax and go with it. It's a healthy, natural thing.
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 9:58 AM
Yep, I would. Last summer, in observance of our tenth anniversary I did a full modeling layout with a professional photographer that was looking to expand their portfolio, so we traded out modeling for the photography. My first observation was that, after a 6 1/2 hour shoot, I had MUCH more respect for models! It's much harder than it looks. The second thing was how absolutely empowering it was, going from lingerie to full nude, to be confident in my own body, even with the remaining rough spots. Thirdly, it's amazing what good lighting and a great artist can produce!!! Fourth, I was proud to be putting myself out there (some of these shots went into his portfolio online, with my permission) as a "real" looking woman and be sexy as any waif-thin model. Lastly, it was fantastically fun to gift my husband with a finished photo album chock full of these gorgeous pictures a month or two later. I'll show them to any one it's not totally inappropriate to, and point out that 6 years ago, I was over 100 pounds heavier. Isn't it amazing when all that hard work can produce?
Thursday, September 21, 2006, 10:09 AM
No its sluty.Sex is not bad but the cheap porn is.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 12:53 AM
if i knew my family wouldn't see it/care i would totally do it! I think those girls are so sexy and hot.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 1:21 AM
Just remember most of your parents would have a heart attack if you did!
Friday, September 22, 2006, 5:55 AM
you don't have to be naked in a magazine for men to pleasure themselves with your image. there are men who find victoria's secret catalogs prime material. just because someone is nude doesn't automatically equate the situation or the person with sexual activity. look at all of the wonderful nude paintings and sculptures...were these folly for the sexually frustrated back in the day? i think not. playboy is art.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 8:56 AM
I'd do it. They Photoshop those things so much, it would never look like me by the time they were done with it anyway.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 9:29 AM
Playboy is art and the pictures are sexy. It's not dirty or slutty. The pictures are done very tastefully.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 11:15 AM
my parents don't read playboy and i highly doubt that anyone who know them and does read the magazine would point out to my folks that i was in it, let alone show them the pictures. i am equally sure that if my folks did know i was going to be in playboy, they would not view that issue.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 11:16 AM
I once went to a party in body paint. I had only a thong on. It was extremely funny to see my friends reactions. Granted, I had a hot body in those days. I love looking back at the pictures of that party. I guess the difference is that with playboy, unknown men (and women!) would be looking at me. I don't have a problem with porn/naked art... and I could care less what men do while they're looking at it. However, I don't think I'd choose to do it now.
Friday, September 22, 2006, 3:50 PM
Believe me it is not a option!
Friday, September 22, 2006, 6:52 PM
Would you want your daughter in playboy?
Saturday, September 23, 2006, 1:34 AM
I don't think I'd have a problem with my daughter being in playboy as long as it was tastefully done. Once she is older, the choice is completely hers.
Saturday, September 23, 2006, 3:10 AM
I would NOT have a problem with my daughter being in Playboy. As someone said earlier, the pictures are sexy but done very tastefully.
Saturday, September 23, 2006, 5:44 AM
My daughters have great fugures. One of them actually has the figure ( chesty ) fo it. My daughters realize that their inner soul is very important and their body is private!
Saturday, September 23, 2006, 10:20 PM
I'd do it now!
Screw waiting for the perfect bod. My butt looks great!

I think you’d have to have serious self esteem problems (not to mention psychological problems) to pose for playboy. An offer would be flattering, but to follow-through would be lowering your self-worth. You’d be selling your body to the whole WORLD for what, $5,000??? In my opinion, you’d be just as classy as a stripper (which isn’t all that classy).
With all due respect, for all you ladies that would/want to pose for Playboy, I encourage you to dig deep and find out why your feel your body has a price tag (absentee father, sexual abuse, dysfunctional upbringing, etc.)
Wednesday, October 4, 2006, 7:23 PM
This wouldn't be about a price tag, or selling oneself to the world. It would be about feeling beautiful and powerful and wanting to share that with others. Believe it or not, one does not need to be disfunctional in any way to enjoy attention of a positive nature from others. Nor does it define your self esteem.
Maybe you need to dig deep and find out why you feel so threatened by the concept of being sexually attractive.
Wednesday, October 4, 2006, 11:48 PM
to 7:23 pm
I have great self-esteem, and I would do it for free. Nudity is not something to be ashamed of. Do you think that the people who posed for the beautiful nude pantings that hang in many museums had self esteem issues or troubled pasts?
I had a great childhood. We had money, my parents were always around, no sexual abuse, or any abuse for that matter. I was not neglected in any way.
I love my body and feel that photography and paintings are art forms. Why should anyone that would want to pose nude have some psychological problems?
Just because you were raised to think that you shouldn't expose your body doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with those of us that feel that nudity can be an artform if it is tastefully done.
Also, for you to degrade what anyone chooses to do as a profession is less classy than anything that you can imagine.
I believe that if someone wants to do something that is legal, then they shouldn't be degraded for it.
You should look deep inside and see what your issues are with people that feel comfortable in their skin, and why you are degrading them.
ps: I'm not a stripper, but would pose for Playboy, I guess I'm not that classy in your eyes...oh well, it really hurts me to know that you disapprove!
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 2:29 AM
i think it's silly to label your own hang ups as "moral values" or some other pretentious euphamism. okay, you don't want to pose in playboy or be a stripper. but to denegrate those who do is more telling of your self esteem issues than others. you must know the famous quote, "i may not agree with what you say (do), but i will fight to the death fo your right to (do so)." that's my attitude. live and let live...
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 9:56 AM
Truly I agree with Wednesday, October 04, 2006, 7:23 PM
If a person wants to be an exhibitionist. There is either a need for attention and approval on appearanc or a problem with narcissism (excessive self-admiration and self-centeredness), which is a personality disorder characterized by the patients overestimation of their own appearance and abilities who have an excessive need for admiration.
Hope it is the need for attention, because most narcissists are too into themselves to realize anything is wrong.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 10:18 AM
"...most narcissists are too into themselves to realize anything is wrong."
and you've proven your point with the self righteous comments you posted.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 10:23 AM
Ooooo. Struck a chord, huh. That was worth a chuckle.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 10:53 AM
Thursday, October 05, 2006, 10:23 AM - got a little sting. Poor thing.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:00 AM
here is a link to an interesting article on nudity and some people's fears relating to it.
Link
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:06 AM
It is not about fear of nudity. It is about the desire to exhibit yourself to everyone. Big difference.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:11 AM
while the thread seems to have taken a turn for the worst and gotten off-track, i agree with the above posters who think that nudity is an art from, when presented tastefully. i don't think the nude paintings and scultures of the renaissance were depicting women / men who needed to fill an empty space in themselves. i think it would be an honor to be able to embrace one's outer beauty in a amgazine like playboy.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:13 AM
it may well be a fear of nudity for some. this isn't just a post for one person's views, so maybe someone else will relate to this article.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:20 AM
Well, one must decide for themselves if Playboy and art are synonomous.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:23 AM
i sure would!!
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 1:24 PM
Yumm yeah, have you ever seen playboy pictures in an art book, even one that had nude paintings. Yumm no, because playboy is NOT art! It's selling your body to the whole world so sleazy men can whack off to it. Do you really think the Playboy empire considers themselves artists? No, they exploit sex and nudity, that's far from someone who does nude paintings/drawings, which can be classy when done right. Come on girls, get some self respect!
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 4:42 PM
i have plenty of self respect. so much, in fact, that i don't need yours. can't people share their views/opinions without judging others so much?
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 5:03 PM
The last I heard 711 doesnt sell art!
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 5:45 PM
10:23 Poster, you said "...most narcissists are too into themselves to realize anything is wrong."
Think the same goes for super JEALOUS people? Maybe secretly WISH you were hot enough for playboy??? :)
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 7:06 PM
People shouldn't degrade others! If you wouldn't do it, then leave it at that. No one cares about what you think (unmoral, dirty, low self esteem.) Say you wouldn't do it, and keep it at that.
The OP asked "would you pose for playboy" they didn't ask why you would or would not pose for Playboy. It was a yes or no answer.
I understand why the people that said yes to the question feel the need to explain themselves because of the rude and uneducated responses from those who basically said that if you would do it, you are a whore or "less classy than a stripper"!
Not cool! People are allowed to do what they want to do!
Please keep all negative opinions to oneself, as it gets very tiring to hear negative opinions!
Say you wouldn't do it, and keep it at that!
I wouldn't do it, but I do understand the fact that those that would, feel that they need to explain themselves.
FOR THOSE THAT WOULD!
- You go girls!
I am not comfortable exposing myself to other people. But the difference between me and most of the people that said no, I don't think it is a negative thing, it is a personal choice, which you are entitled too!
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 7:50 PM
I’m really surprised on how may women here think this is a respectable/normal thing to do. On the other hand, most of us have weight issues (that’s why we’re here), which may explain why so many of you think Playboy is glamorous. There may me a correlation between the issues that caused you to be overweight and your desire to sell your body.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 7:58 PM
"People shouldn't degrade others! If you wouldn't do it, then leave it at that. No one cares about what you think (unmoral, dirty, low self esteem.)"
They are degrading themselves by posing for Playboy! They have the right to explain why they want to do it BUT I have the right to explain why I think it's trashy.
Any respectable guy would not bring a playboy bunny home to meet the parents. Simple as that! It's NOT a respectable profession and those girls are no different than a stripper.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 8:06 PM
We only hate the naked female body when we hate our body.
I would.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 10:09 PM
I think people pose for Playboy for lots of different reasons. For some it might be about self-esteem issues, for others it's probably just something to do for fun. I would NOT pose for Playboy (not art in my opinion) but I would pose nude for actual art photos to give to my husband or even to hang in a gallery.
Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:32 PM
1023 poster here. actually, i was quoting from the comment posted at 1018 with which i disagreed. i fully support women choosing to pose for playboy and i don't have any problem with posing if i was invited to do so. i do have a problem with those who try to identify other people's reasons for making the decisions they do. i would never tell someone to "get some self respect" due to their choices (it's called SELF respect), nor would i call someone a prude for making a different choice. this is sort of an opinion poll from the way i understand it.
Friday, October 6, 2006, 10:27 AM
came across this one again and wondered if anyone else has an opinion? i understand there was a recent playmate who was over 40 and a mother of 3? that's remarkable!!
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 1:28 PM
I would consider posing nude, but not in Playboy. I've seen their layouts from every single decade since it's inception and the art direction, make-up and photography are more often than not of a laughably poor quality. Think "shopping mall glamour shots" in the buff. Yikes. For another publication or a photographer who was actually an artist, absolutely.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 2:05 PM
Yes, I would. Playboy isn't trashy and I think it would be a compliment.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 4:08 PM
Oh my, It isn't acceptable to go topless at the beach. oopps.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 8:15 PM
If nudity is so "normal" then why do people wear clothes in the first place and cover our private parts? Sex is normal, in an intimate setting to be shared between two people. We might as well consider ourselves just like animals. In native cultures where nudity is prominent is due to the people not viewing certain body parts as sexual, such as breasts, however in other cultures such as western, breasts are sexual, and showing one's body for others sexual gratification isn't normal, because it isn't normally done on a everyday setting.
Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 4:35 AM
I grew up in Europe and it's perfectly acceptable to be topless on a beach - or even stark naked in some countries. It isn't a sexual thing - it's more about comfort and getting an even tan. Being naked does not need to be a sexual thing, and I think if we weren't so uptight about the naked body it would become less of a taboo and sexual sight and more natural and normal as nature intended it to be.
Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 9:28 AM
No I would not do pose but it would be great to look like one of those girls in there...oh but to dream, the impossible dream......
I would love to lose enough weight to wear a belly ring too as someone else said.
Thursday, July 16, 2009, 11:50 PM
No, I don't think I could muster the courage. So many people would see it and....I don't know, it just wouldn't be for me. I would however consider being a nude model for an art class or something though. It's smaller and more intimate...
Don't get me wrong, though! I have fantasized about reaching my goal weight and becoming an exotic dancer or working at the Moonlit Bunny Ranch! lol
