Who's watching "The Biggest Loser"?
I love this show! For some reason I didn't catch it last season until like the last couple of shows but this time I want to see the whole thing. Of course I missed the beginning of this show--does anyone know how long they had between the start and the first weigh-in?

Cant believe most lost 20 lbs in one week!
Gosh... i wish i could do that. I know they have so much more to lose than me.. but WOW! That is amazing!

ONE WEEK!

Oh, it's inspiring! I enjoyed watching it and it made me want to work out even harder!

That is so funny, i was going to post about this this morning, but someone already had! There is just something about this show that i really love. i was hooked to it last year and my hubby and i even had our own "biggest loser' challenge!
also, you have to understand that with the 20 pound loss in one week, they are restricted to women 1200-1500 calories per day and men 1500-1800 calories a day and they workout ALL DAY. They don't work and have to deal with kids and things like that!

20 lbs
isn't the dangerous?
and isn't it much too fast for your body to adjust to? in other words, won't you have loose skin?

20 lbs???
Yes, I was also thinking about all that loose skin. Just about every doctor out there will tell you that you should not try to lose more than 2 lbs a week. - what are these people who lose 20 - doing to their bodies?

Biggest Loser
I think something to take into consideration here is that most of these people have a lot of weight to lose. When you have so much to lose and you start eating healthy and exercising, you can drop weight very quickly. I'm sure a lot of it is water weight. It will be interesting to see if they can continue this rate of weight loss. My husband had weight loss surgery and had to go on liquids for a week without exercise and he dropped 20 pounds. He was a big man but 20 pounds was almost like nothing. Now he is losing at a rate of about 2 lbs. per week. I like this show just to get ideas on what I can incorporate in my life. There are a lot worse things than losing weight so quicky like heart disease, diabetes etc. These people would probably never do this on their own. It is very brave to be in front of millions of people in your bra and bike shorts when you'd probably never show yourself to your family and friends in that attire. If you've never had the fear of dying from your weight I don't think you can truly understand where some of these people are coming from

The first weigh-in is always the biggest. When I was 14, I went to Weight Watchers camp. I weighed about 178 and the first week I lost 7 lbs. After that it dropped to about 2 - 3 lbs. per week. Yes, a lot of it is probably water weight. I bet their weight losses are less significant in coming weeks.

I was hooked on it last season and I'm sure I will be this season too. Last season, weight loss was really high in the first week, and dropped a lot in the following weeks. These people never ate right or worked out, and now they're in boot camp, which is why they can lose so much right away.
I think the men against women thing isn't such a great idea. Women have other factors that affect their weight, such as their menstual cycle. It might balance out when the men gain more heavier muscle than the women.... we'll see!

I have never seen this but it sounds like something I want to watch. When you are obese, especially morbidly obese, your initial weight loss is around 60-70% water. I had a friend who was 150 pounds overweight, I helped her start a diet of 1400 cal, healthy foods, lots of water and made her go to the gym with me every other day, the first 2 weeks she lost 32 pounds, after the first 2 months her weight loss slowed down. In 8 months she lost 84 pounds. Then she moved and I know she went back to her old habits and in a year she gained back 50. TOO SAD.

I loooooove this show!
I'm so glad it's on again! I missed the premiere this season, but it's on again tonight - I'm watching it right now! This is THE show that inspired me last season to start getting back into shape and losing weight. I'm hoping it works like an additional kick in the butt I need right now!

I've never wathced the show but with all that I've been reading right now it makes me want to really watch it. Unfortunately I missed this week's show but next week I'll keep an eye out. I definitely need as much inspiration as I can get since I am about 150lbs or more over weight and I need to do something about it since I don't feel comfortable with myself.

hate it
I've watched it a few times. I thought it was interesting to see what would happen, but most of the people are just annoying. I'm glad that they're losing the weight though...

ENJOY THE SHOW
Matt is very annoying, though
