Monday, October 2, 2006, 11:48 PM
Not my thing
I sure tried it but it wasn't my thing. The diet doesn't allow any room for failure.
Wednesday, October 4, 2006, 1:25 PM
Would someone mind telling me more about it???
I would be interested in learning more.
Wednesday, October 4, 2006, 4:01 PM
It does allow room for failure & says so right in the book. You just pick yourself up by your boot straps & pick up where you left off. As a matter of fact it is more forgivving than most diets because you eat so well 99% of the time so that 1% of the time that you might fail or waiver it does not out carry much wt so to speak.

About Fat Smash Diet in a nut shell
Here's the skinny LOL on the FAT SMASH Diet, Check my log out to see what I'm eating & how fast I am loosing during Phase I detox! It's unbelievable. I was severly addicted to sugar right b4 I started FS Diet, eating 1-2 candy bars at night & 4 servings of lf icecream, cookies.... really bad. After 1 day on FS my cravings were gone & the wt started coming off. (5.75 in 5 days! I only want to lose my last 15 lbs so that I can maintain for life. But I can never seem to get there. Now I know I can!
This is really not a diet but a normal healthy way to eat by the end of phase 4.
There are 4 phases. Phase 1 is detox to clean out your body of all the junk we have been abusing ourselves with. You eat all the fruits & veggis you want except white potatos & Avacados. You also can have up to and any of the following: unlimited legumes/beans & tofu, 1 cup of oatmeal, 2 cups of brown rice, 2 cups lf or 1% milk, 2 6oz yogurts and 4 eggwhites (eggbeaters) only water & 2 cups of herbal tea to drink. you get a very limited amount of olive oil & lf & ff dressing to use. You do this for 9 days. You are not suppose to weigh until AM of day 10 but I weigh in almost everyday, the progress motivates me! My husband hasn't weighed yet.
Phase 2 for 3wks you keep everything you are eating in phase I & add in most protein meat chicken turkey fish (except pork), 1 whole egg add unsweetend ceral, 1 oz of cheese, coffee 1 10 oz cup & 2 diet pops a day come back.
Phase 3 4 weeks: increase the amounts of protein, adds ff mayo & peanut butter, 2 whole eggs, 3 cups of lf milk now & 1.3 oz of lf/ff cheese, 2 cups of freshly squeezed juice & whole grains bread 4 slices a day, 1 cup of pasta and 1 desert serving per day.
Phase 4 for life every food you want come back including alchol & all sweets/chips everything. the idea is your able to now handle a snack or high fat meal & go back to your regular good habits you have learned to retrain your body with.
He also demands 5 days of cardio work out a week & the time spent exercising increase 20% every phase. This is key to burning calories while reducing your calorie intake w/food make you loose the wt twice as fast.
It is so easy & I have gotten creative w/recipies during the 1st 9 days & we grilled veggies & ate lots of bean soups.
No gimicks, not a lot of rules the book is even cheap on line to buy. I think the website is www.fatsmashdiet.com

I have made stage one part of my permanent diet. I don't hit it nearly ever, but it serves as a good guide for me. The fat is being smashed!
Saturday, May 12, 2007, 5:44 PM
I'm going to start the Fat Smash Detox tomorrow as I see that I am in a weak place and need to break my body out of its toxic food cravings. I've done it before - I can do it again.
Although I am a vegetarian, the first 9 days sound like eating Vegan.
Does anyone have any advice on how to stay on track and, share any warnings?

fat smash question
I started the Extreme Fat Smash Diet on Sat, June 2nd. I can do this, but I hate beans! Is there anyone who can give me an alternative to beans besides fiber pills?
Monday, June 4, 2007, 12:12 PM
I started the Fat Smash diet on May 29th. The first two days were hard because I am used to snacking on junk at my desk all day. But I am doing well. I have lost 7 pounds in the first 5 days (couldn't help myself, I had to weigh in). I begin phase 2 on Thursday morning. I miss my meats but I got through on salad unitl I got sick of it and stir fry with brown rice, fruits for breakfast (along with egg whites) and snacks. Pink Grapefruit really got me through. Now, I am pretty tired of salads so I plan to coast into Thursday on fruit alone. That way, I get my sweets fix! Make sure you drink lots of water. And for exercise, I started walking during my lunch hour since I work in a very hilly town. For others like me, this is a great solution if you have to commute everyday. I personally don't feel like exercising once I get home and take care of hubby and son. Plus, when you do have the energy, you can get in some extra exercise!

Allergy question
Anyone on Fat Smash have ideas for me, I am allergic to legumes, including soy. I can't eat beans at all, but would love to try it.

Fat Smash Diet
Hello out there to all fellow Fat Smash Dieters. Today is my first day at smashing the fat. I tried on bathing suits yesterday and realized how critical it was for me to do something and fast. I know it is going to be really hard. I hate yogurt, brown rice and oatmeal. I need all the support I can get. There aren't enough recipes in the book and the only one I think I'll even try is the vegetable soup. Any recipes out there to share with someone who knows she's in for a struggle?
Monday, June 11, 2007, 4:32 PM
I am on day 3 of the fat smash. I love it. I don't feel hungry. im not craving anything. I can have fruit when ever I want it. you can try maybe tofu or a meat substitue like quorn if your in the uk if you dont like beans.

curves
I actually work at a curves. I have for years. I lost 100+ lbs doing the Curves workout and the Curves low-carb (high protein) diet. It definitely worked. But, I'm in a rut with it lately and am intrigued by the fat-smash diet. Think I'll pick-up the book today. And keep up with your circuits. For results: make sure you feel the burn in your muscles after EACH AND EVERY machine. If you don't - you're not getting the benefits out of the machine. Work those machines!!!!! That is the ONLY way to see results!

Going to start
Hello all! I am new here. I am 32 and mother to 3 wonderful boys ages 11 yrs, 7 yrs and 18 months old..lots of baby weight to lose. After seeing the success on Celebrity Fit Club, my husband and I have decided to try the Fat Smash Diet. I just ordered my book and the latest that it will arrive in the mail to me is next Tuesday...I am going to start the day after it arrives. I see so much success on this diet and am excited to start. I am also nervous because I really enjoy my coffee in the morning and it sounds like that is not allowed in phase 1. Yikes! The other things on the diet I know I can handle. I am so glad that I have found this site and a support system. Have a wonderful day all and I'll see you soon!
Monday, June 18, 2007, 12:15 PM
First day
Today is my first day to start Phase I of the Fat Smash Diet. I had oatmeal for breakfast and a banana, then for a snack I ate an apple. Lunch is cucumbers and tomatoes with apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper for a little bite and 6 oz of yogurt. Then my afternoon snack will be pineapple. I am still hungry though. I love breads and it is really hard for me not to eat bread. I am a huge sandwich eater, I can eat sandwiches every day. I cannot wait until I am able to eat meats and breads again.
Monday, June 18, 2007, 12:45 PM
Side Effects..
OK, I am trying to put this in a way that is not disgusting but just thought about this:
Has anyone who has been through Phase 1 or is a few days into Phase 1 noticed any unpleasant side effects to the detox? I was talking to my brother about this and he said: "Wow...detox. Your bowels will go through h*** with that but you'll feel better." Yikes! Anyone have anything unpleasant happening in that department? I never thought about that and that kind of made me nervous.
Monday, June 18, 2007, 1:50 PM
you sound like you have picked good foods, but you need to add the fiber in the beans.. and the rice and eggwhites is what keeps you full.
Monday, June 18, 2007, 5:59 PM
well I am reaching the end of phase 1. I havent had any bad side effects.. I love the plan. Im NOT hungry. I can have fruits and all the veggies I want and still have some milk.

Fat Smash
I am currently unemployed and can't afford to buy the book...I've been trying to detox for 8 days now by eating stuff I found online but I have no idea of what the entire menu consists of without the book. Can you offer me your journal so I can see what you are eating?
Do you mind sharing some info...it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Sunday, June 24, 2007, 2:40 PM
I'm in the same position, can't afford to buy another diet book. Can any of you tell us the foods to eat during phase 1 and how long you should do it for? I'd really appreciate it.
Monday, June 25, 2007, 9:18 PM
Ok, I just googled for FSD and this came up from PT:
The Fat Smash Diet- Part of a New Wave of Diets That Are Healthy and Actually Work
The Fat Smash Diet is a diet created by Dr. Ian K. Smith best known from VH1's Celebrity Fit Club. The most important thing to know about it is that it works. Fat Smash is part of a "new wave" of diet approaches that are very healthy and sustainable over the long term. The single most important aspect of the diet is the idea that you can eat as many fruits and veggies as you like. This is critically important because traditional diet approaches focus on limiting and restricting the foods you eat. This is a recipe for failure. It is literally impossible to be obese with a diet that is extremely high in fruits, vegetables, greens and legumes. The reason for this is that these foods give your body the nutrition it needs. Diets high in meat, milk, cheese and processed foods are nutrient poor. Your body is not getting what it needs and continually sends signals to your brain to keep eating in a (usually futile attempt) to get nutrients. When you eat a diet high in the "good stuff", your body no longer goes into panic mode when you get hungry. "Food addiction", which is often a reaction to chemicals in food, goes away. You have the foods you need, and you are much less compelled to overeat.
The formal diet is a 90 day program and it is divided into 4 phases. It is a very common sense approach to eating and dieting, and is very popular among the members of the PEERtrainer community. It really does not matter if you want to follow the diet in a formal manner. Take a look at what Dr. Smith is advocating- there is much to learn. Any diet loosely based on his "Phase One" will be healthy and will likely help you lose weight. Additionally, diets high in fruits, vegetables and greens are shown to dramatically lower the risk of heart disease, cancer and more. Due to heavy marketing we are asked if we "Got Milk" and told that "Beef is What's For Dinner." The reality is that the focus on these two food sources is making us fat and probably killing us. This does not mean eliminate meat and dairy. Just go easy on it. And eat all the fruit and veggies you want.
1. Phase I - Detox - This phase lasts 9 days. In this phase you will eat mostly fruits and vegetables. The idea is to cleanse your body of junk and you eliminate things like alcohol and caffeine. You can eat all the fruits & veggies you want except white potatoes and avocados. You also can have the following: legumes/beans & tofu, 1 cup of oatmeal, 2 cups of brown rice, 2 cups lowfat or 1% milk, 2 6oz yogurts and 4 eggwhites (eggbeaters) only water & 2 cups of herbal tea to drink. You also get a very limited amount of olive oil dressing to use. This Phase lasts for 9 days.
How PEERtrainer Helps You Lose Weight with Online Support Groups
2. Phase II - Foundation - This phase lasts 3 weeks. In this phase you eat the same foods as phase I, except you will reintroduce lean meats. Phase 2 is for 3 weeks and you keep everything you are eating in phase I & add in most protein meat chicken turkey fish (except pork), 1 whole egg add unsweetend ceral, 1 oz of cheese, coffee 1 10 oz cup & 2 diet pops a day come back.
3. Phase III - Construction - This phase lasts 4 weeks. In this phase you eat the same foods as phase I & II except you will reintroduce whole wheat pastaand bread.
4. Phase IV - The Temple - This phase is for life. In this phase you eat the same foods as phase I,II, & III. In addition to those foods, you can eat some white starches (ie. white rice, potatoes) as well as have a couple of glasses of wine or beer each week. Phase 4 for life every food you want come back including alchol & all sweets/chips everything. the idea is your able to now handle a snack or high fat meal & go back to your regular good habits you have learned to retrain your body with.

The Importance of Social Support and Self-Monitoring in Following The Fat Smash Diet
Dr Ian Smith gives you the information you need to change your life. It is easy to forget just how powerful his approach is. That said, unless you have a support group to keep you on track, your Fat Smash progress will be incomplete or may end before you have a chance to make it a permanent part of your life. Group and peer support is a highly proven method for losing weight and getting healthy. It is one thing to learn how to lose weight and eat better, it is another thing to put this into practice on a consistent basis. Friends and family are of limited use because there is only so much burden they can bear. Getting the support of an anonymous group of people each day can make the critical difference. Self-monitoring is the other method, backed by volumes of research, that is highly correlated with weight loss success. You keep a log of your food, exercise, goals and thoughts. When you do this each day it keeps you accountable to yourself, and brings this aspect of your life to the top of your mental agenda. When you are writing each day, you are thinking about the things you write about. This begins to change how you think and facilitates better decision making. When you make better decisions, and have a broad support network, you are very likely to lose weight for the long term. When you do both these things, the odds of success increase dramatically.
A free, online resource that facilities both social support and self-monitoring in an easy to use (and anonymous format) is PEERtrainer. You sign up, start or join small groups and teams. You log your food each day, and the others in your group see your log and provide support, motivation and accountability each day. It is like a virtual support group available on the internet whenever you need it. It is highly effective and has been featured in The New York Times, Fitness Magazine, Womens World and Business Week. To learn more about how you can take advantage of this powerful support resource, Click Here

FSD people
For any of you doing this....Do you think this would work for someone who can't eat raw veggies due to a medical issue. Can I use non-stick spray and sautee the veggies or eat my veggies steamed? And the fruit can you eat it without the peels?
Monday, June 25, 2007, 9:36 PM
my experience
I started this plan on Memorial Day. It has been exactly four weeks that I have been following this diet. I have lost 8.5 pounds so far. I only set out to lose 10. Now I would like to add 5 more to my goal.
I think I've hit a plateau, but I'm taking some advice from the last chapter in the book and trying to mix up my exercise routine a bit to break through it. Anyone else in the same boat?
By the way, yes, you can eat any fruit w/o peels. Yes, you can sautee veggies and spice them up--just use a tsp. of olive oil.
Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 12:21 AM

Ask your mom to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies. Tell her what you want to try and why. She should be more then glad to support you.
Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 3:51 AM
Phase 1 Question

Yes! The diet is great!! I began in January of this year and have last 15 1/2 pounds. I really appreciate Dr. Ian's healthy and realistic approarch to eating and exercise. The diet has literally changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make a lifestyle change.
Thursday, June 28, 2007, 2:04 PM
i am on day 3 and i am experiencing alot of gas and my bowels feel like they are being tortured. Today was a little better.
Thursday, June 28, 2007, 10:52 PM
OOOH!
IT COULD BE THAT YOU'RE BODY IS JUST NOT USED TO THE DRASTIC CHANGE OF CALORIE AND FAT INTAKE. I'M NO DOCTOR, BUT EVEN I SAY THAT THE DIET IS PRETTY EXTREME (I LOVE IT THOUGH...). WHEN I FIRST STARTED LAST SUMMER, MY STOMACH really WASN'T INTO TEH DETOX. I THINK THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO JUST (I KNOW IT'S HARSH AND I'M SORRY) CLENCH YOUR TEETH AND BEAR IT, BUT DONOT GET DISSAPOINTED FOR, ALAS, THERE IS A SOLUTION!
:YOU'RE BODY WILL GET USED TO IT BY THE SIXTH DAY (PROBABLY)
WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON THE DIET SO FAR? BESIDE THE PAIN?
Friday, June 29, 2007, 12:45 AM
Weight gain
I've gained 2 lbs since starting phase 2, but I don't know why. I've only added cheerios and cheese back since I'm a vegetarian. Any ideas?
Friday, June 29, 2007, 9:27 AM
What about cous cous, quinoa, complete grains? Only brown rice?
Friday, June 29, 2007, 1:37 PM
I'm Inspired & Going For It!
I'm SO inspired by all of your postings. I've just ordered the book online but think I could get started with the information I found here in these postings. I feel like I need inspiration from groups like this though to stay on track. I guess, in a way, people, like me, to believe in me and help inspire me to keep me going. I just found PEERtrainer yesterday and LOVE it already. At least I feel inspired. I have, ideally, 40-50 pounds to lose and HOPE I can believe in myself enough to stick with it. I really am finding that it helps to pick yourself back up and keep going, if you fail. One day or one bad meal won't make you fail. Continued bad days and bad meal choices is what will make you fail. I'm not going to give up just for one meal or one day of failing. Can't wait to post a success story. :-D

Getting the Book
Go to the library and borrow it. It's a really think book, which takes less than an hour to read because the other half of the book is recipes.
Sunday, July 1, 2007, 2:39 AM
yogurt
Phase 1 - Any flavor low fat yogurt is fine.
Sunday, July 1, 2007, 2:40 AM
Yogurt
Make sure there isn't any high fructose corn syrup in your yogurt. I suggest getting Mountain High Yogurt. It's the most natural yogurt out there. Check out the site. http://www.mountainhighyoghurt.com/
To start with, Mountain High Yoghurt is all natural, with NO artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, starches, or preservatives. Perhaps more importantly, it contains live, active, and probiotic cultures. Most commercial brands only contain the "starter cultures" L. bulgaricus and S. thermophilus . These cultures make milk into yoghurt. But Mountain High's unique blend of the live, active and probiotic cultures L. acidophilus, B. bifidus, and L. casei support your overall wellness.

I did clench my teeth and bared it and i am on day 6 and feeling much better. I was eating way too many beans i think. I am not seeing a huge weight loss tho. We shall see.

Yummy
My mom and I are doing the fat smash diet. We got desperate in Phase 1 and added mixed veggies and egg whites to the brown rice (which we cooked in chicken broth) and had kind of a fake fried rice. You can add soy sauce as well. We're on day 8. I've lost 4 lbs and she's lost 7. The biggest difference is how I feel, though. I have a lot more energy! :)
Monday, July 2, 2007, 11:10 AM
smoothies
I like smoothies for my larger meal...6 oz yogurt or vanilla lite soy milk, 2 fruits...pineapple and banana or blueberry and banana. ( you can freeze seasonal blueberries) add Splenda and a cap of vanilla and ice..mmmmm. I also have a gas problem and it's very annoying. I have to take Immodium chewables and add benefiber to my smoothies.

Fat Smash Diet
Hello fellow fat smash dieters, this is my first day on fat smash diet, and i did fairly well. the only mistake i made was tonight, i ate a small piece of steak on my salad. I am a big meat eater so it was pretty hard this evening when i made my family some meat.
But other thatn that i think i got this fat smash diet down, i know i will do much better tomorrow.
To all, keep up the good work. you keep me motivated.
Tuesday, July 3, 2007, 3:28 AM
try some meat substitues like quorn or boca crumbles. I hear the boca crumbles are really good. I love the quorn.. it helps a little with missing the meats. meats are introduced back in the second phase. so hang in there.

I am a person who usually skips meals so for me it seems like alot of food. I am very encouraged so far because I do not feel deprived or starving. I think this is really a sensible way to lose weight and redefine our eating habits. I am dying to step on the scale but am holding out.......hope everyone is hanging in there. I love reading everyones advice and tips.........thanks and good luck to all of you!!!
Monday, July 9, 2007, 11:03 AM

Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 11:21 AM

New smasher
I haven't got my book yet so I have a question about diet sodas. We're not supposed to have caffeine but are we allowed a caffeine free diet soda? I am on my 5th day so far and hanging in there. I feel good but am hungry every once in a while. I don't have a lot of ideas of what to eat other than sweet potatoes, rice, beans and various vegetables and salad. Thankfully i like fruits and vegees. Otherwise I wouldn't have even tried. Hopefully I'll have my book in the next day or two.

Phase II
OK, I know you can add meat and I've read the book but it's not clear to me exactly how much you can have. It has a list of meats and fish but am I to choose just one of those to add to my diet? And what about the whole egg? I'm not sure that I'm supposed to choose between the meat and the egg. Anyone got insight on this for me?
Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 6:52 AM
3 to 4 oz of meat such as chicken, turkey, minced beef, serloin steak kamb grilled
about the size of a deck of cards/
seafood is halibut, tuna, salmon, sole about 3 oz
prawns or shrimp.. 4 large,
mussels 3 oz
oysters 6-12
clams 3
ok you can have one meat and one seafood or if you dont want seafood you can have two meats and vice versa.
you are still allowed your 4 eggwhites plus one whole egg.
hope that helps.. have fun smashing!
Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 7:22 PM
Finished Phase I
OK, just to give you the 411 on how my first phase went: I lost 9 lbs! How awesome is that! I wasn't expecting that. I thought maybe 4 or 5 pounds. So now I'm starting the 2nd phase. I hope I can hang on to reach my goal. I'm scared with adding more things I'm going to gain it back. I'll depend on you for encouragement and support! Thanks.

Phase I - Day 2
I'm a hardcore junk food junkie, so I'm still having convulsions when i walk past the vending machine at work. But I've got my bag of carrot sticks, some yogurt, two pears and two apples to hold me over until lunch time. I am seriously contemplating a whopper and fries, but I'll fight the urge. Instead, I'll head to the chinese restaurant and have them make me a wonton soup, substituting the wontons with broccoli and mushrooms. I did that yesterday, and surprisingly it was delicious and satisfying - only cost me 3 bucks too!

I find it interesting ...
... that I can't find any long-term winners in Fat Smash Diet posters. Everybody is "getting ready to try it" or "just getting into it."
Don't get me wrong, I bought the book, the fruits and veggies and am ready to start. But, I've Googled and I've searched and I'll be damned if I can't really find any good before and after stories of Fat Smash dieters.
I'm unsure how much effort I want to put into this. Is this just a vapor diet? Here today, gone tomorrow, no trace it was here?
Monday, August 20, 2007, 4:15 PM
It is so not a "here today, gone tomorrow"
I have been doing this for a fairly long time, now. I have gone from 240 pounds to 177 pounds. I feel so much better for eating so much healthier than I ever did in the past.
I have done the Atkins Diet for years, with success, mostly. However, I had an increasingly difficult time sticking to it, and gained a lot of my original weight back (I was 300 in 1999).
The Fat Smash Diet is so easy to stick to, it becomes a way of life. Moving gradually into the exercise was a perfect way to make it part of my life style. My wife and I are contractors, so instead of bologna sandwiches in the cooler, we bring non-fat yougurt, bananas, apples, and the like. Also, I fill up on lots of water during the work day.

Successful Fat Smasher!
Can't say enough good about this plan! I cannot and will not refer to it as a diet because it's not a diet - it's just plain common sense.
There are 2 groups here at PT that I've found:

There is also the pay site: www.celebrityfitclub.com You can work either the original or the extreme plan and have infinite selections of food - not just what is listed in the books.
Want inspirational messages direct from Dr. Ian? Check out this free site:
www.50millionpounds.com <-- You won't see Fat Smash mentioned much and it is open to anyone and everyone free of charge. Work whatever plan you want to work - log your weight loss to help Dr. Ian make his dream a reality! He's helping change the American Culture - It's amazing to be a part of this!
If you want to learn a new lifestyle and change to a healthy way of eating and living - then buy either of the books - they are $13 - Not $30 like the other "diet" books. Paperbacks - Easy Reads - Cheap - Common Sense - and it works!
I'm down 21 pounds 2 pant sizes and have gained great self esteem just since mid June!
You've got nothing to loose but weight and unhealthy habits!!

fat smash
I agree that it is a better long term diet than WW or Atkins or Slimfast. I have had some minor issues with gas, but as the days go on, I am adjusting and feeling better. Exercise s really crucial. I do not feel overly hungry and I feel full at meals. I cannot wait to see how much weight I am going to lose. I know that after Phase I the weight loss will slow down to a couple of pounds a week, but at least that is consistent weight loss. I also think it is important to go back to phase 1 for a few days whenever you hit a plateau. Also, the increase in exercise is really necessary to get through. I look as this being a lifetime commitment and not a quick fix. The book even talks about this. Good luck everyone!

Fat Smash...
I started the fat smash diet 6 days ago and I am extra paranoid. I was recently on a diet that only allowed 600 calories a day. Believe it or not, I lost 53 lbs off of the limited caloric intake. Now, I have hit a plateau and wanted to try a lifestyle type of change (Fat Smash Diet). I am apprehensive that I will gain the weight (the weight that I previously lost) back, because of the unlimited fruits and veggies (and the inevitable increase in calories). What should I do?
England
Wednesday, August 22, 2007, 11:18 AM
11.18 - 600 cals per day
OMG - 600 cals per day?! What on earth diet was advocating that? Surely that's terribly dangerous. Did you lose 53 lbs of fat or of fat, muscle and bone density? If it's the latter, it's all bad. Don't be concerned about putting on weight, be concerned about putting on fat. Fruit and veg will not make you put on fat. However, your body having been effectively properly starved on 600 cals per day might well try to make up some fat stores now. Let it, then concentrate on eating properly.

where is your blog
I am ready to start the fat smash diet I have about 120lbs to lose and I saw your post on the internet, I would like to know how much you have lost and how long it took and what types of food you are eating and in what amounts and what types of exercise you are doing. I really appreciate the information because you sound like you are doing great on the diet.
Monday, September 3, 2007, 12:33 PM
what are you eating
I recently saw your post on peertrainer and you said you had lost 17 lbs in a month which is great, can you give me a sample menu of what you eat and how much you eat to keep from getting hungry? Also what types of exercise are you currently doing. I have about 120 lbs to lose and I have been on every diet imaginable only to lose and then regain it all back plus some. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated

the 17 pounds was abut 2 months to do..
the trick to not getting hungry on the plan is to eat every three hours.. eat your beans, oats, and rice.. they are what keeps you feeling full. than snack on fruit and veggies in between.
I eat oats in the morning with a banana or rice with egg whites and salsa ( I love salsa)
water
Than for a snack I will have aan apple or clementines
lunch is maybe a salad maybe with some quorn or black beans with salasa
dinner is veggie burger maybe with sweet poataoe fries and veggies..
I dont have a set menu.. I try new veggies and new fruits weekly..
thats the fun part of this plan is learning new things you like and dont like..

PHASE II
i'm getting ready to start phase II and i noticed we can have turkey but i'm was wondering does this mean like ground turkey you know like turkey burgers?? can anyone help me out?
Friday, October 26, 2007, 12:58 PM
Yes...
I ate ground turkey in Phase 2 and counted is as my 3-4 oz of lean meat. :)
Friday, October 26, 2007, 1:16 PM
Phase II
cool thanks for all your help about the ground turkey

Green Tea
Someone asked this a while back. If we drink Green tea- or any other herbal tea does it have to be deceffinated?
Monday, October 29, 2007, 9:51 AM
2nd day today- and boy am I cranky and tired, not too mention the gas...
Any suggestions?
Monday, October 29, 2007, 3:00 PM
Restless....
I have tried everything, I am very overweight for my age (I'm 22)
I'm not sure how this site works, I just joined today... but is there any way I can get a schedule of what you guys are eating at the different phases, and are being successful at it? Specifically phase one? That would be a great help... thank you!
Saturday, November 10, 2007, 10:57 PM
Calories
Im going to be starting this but do calories not matter, because it seems like the calories can add up in this diet, lots of fruit and so on. Also can you eat all kinds of beans, and what about cream of wheat instead of oatmeal? Thanks everyone
Sunday, November 11, 2007, 3:38 AM
3:38
I think it depends on what you were eating before. I actually gained weight by following the diet, b/c I was eating so many more calories, but if you weren't watching what you were eating at all, taking all the garbage out will definately help!
Take a look at what the Fat Blaster extreme is- maybe it also counts calories...
Tuesday, November 13, 2007, 11:54 AM
I am on day 5 and still drinking coffee. Can this possibly make me not lose the weight. I am doing everything else by the book and loving it but I cant give up my coffee. How bad can it really be?
Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 11:52 PM
I'm also starting the Fat Smash diet today- although I'm sorry to say I had to have one cup of coffee just now :( Anyone else have this issue? I WILL give up my diet soda, though. I hope I can make it through my night time bingest!
Monday, March 24, 2008, 5:42 AM
Fat Smash Diet
I think I have a dumb question, but just want to confirm before I go on the diet. When you start phase II, do you eat the amount of meat, eggs, or fish at each of your four meals or only once? Any help would be great.
Monday, March 24, 2008, 10:44 PM
COFFEE
Are we allowed to have a cup of black coffee or possibly espresso? What about green tea? I know it says we can have herbal tea, but does it have to be decaffeinated?
Monday, March 24, 2008, 10:45 PM
NO COFFEE. Green Tea has caffeine, so get decaf. I too am having the caffeine problem, from people I have talked to who have done this, they say you start to feel normal after a few days. Some people claim to have more energy, but I think that comes a few weeks later when the body is actually starting to adjust to a healthier lifestyle change.
Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 10:41 AM
phase 2
I also was a little confused about the phase 2 foods...does it mean i can have3-4oz of chicken or turkey at each meal....or is that just one meal a day???
Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 9:15 PM
Gum question?
So it says you basically aren't allowed to have anything during that detox stage that isn't on that list, well what about chewing gum? Can I still chew it?
I think that is going to be the only thing that will keep we awake while I detox from caffeine!
Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 10:49 AM
just starting
I haven't been able to pick up the book yet I will soon, but from all the info on here I have started today. My question is IF there is no way around having to eat somewhere other than home and I can't take food with me before my 1st 9 days are up for phase 1 what do you do?
Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 11:53 AM
can you take a multi vitamin daily?
Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 11:54 AM
one more cup for me please
i too am still drinking coffee. i sneaked a peek this morning (started tuesday) and was down 2 lbs! i realize it would probably be more if i stopped drinking my coffee but i can't :(
Friday, March 28, 2008, 5:56 PM
Phase I
Hi! I'm on day one of phase one and I'm really excited! I can't wait to melt into my size 10 jeans! So far so good. I've had oatmeal and bananas for breakfast. For lunch I'm having veggie soup and a salad. Now, can I have hummus? It's made out of chick peas...those are lentils aren't they?
Not sure what I'm having for dinner, I'm such a huge carnivore! Hopefully I can keep this up! So far all is well in Tasha-Land
Thursday, April 3, 2008, 12:55 PM
yes hummus is allowed.. sounds like your doing great!
Thursday, April 3, 2008, 10:51 PM
Phase 1 snacks?
I'm getting ready to get back on the diet tomorrow, and realized I have misplaced my book. What are some of the allowable snacks in phase 1? I remember you could have almonds, cashews, string cheese, but I can't remember anything else?
Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 1:10 PM
On day 4!
I just started the diet and I agree, no craving, I am never hungry and I am looking forward to weighing as I am sure I have lost some pounds. I have been working out and dieting rigidly since July and have only lost 5-8 pounds depends on the day. I was sooo frustrated BUT now I am sure I will lose the 40 pounds I need to in a decent amount of time. Question, how much Can I expect to lose in 90 days? Thanks for your feedback, they have made me feel sooooo HOPEFUL!! wEIGH IN ON SUNDAY but I might cheat and weigh in on Saturday...HMMM....wonder, I was not eating enough before apprx 1000 calories per day...will this increase make me gain?
Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 3:14 PM
Yogurt
May I have Yoplait light?
Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 10:16 PM
Re: Phase 1 Snacks
All fruits are snacks, 1 granola bar, yogurt (fat free), cheese (LF) or milk, veggies, those organic baby carrots are sooo great! Good luck, I am on phase 1 too...Day 5!!

Question about the oatmeal
Is the 1 cup of oatmeal per day in Phase 1 a cup of raw oats which is then prepared into oatmeal or is it a cup of prepared oatmeal?
Thanks...

Monday, April 21, 2008, 7:16 AM
Re: Day 4
I weighed , at the end of Detox I was down 4.5 pounds
End of Phase two week 1, I was down another 1..so I am down 5.5 pounds..was a little disappointed after hearing about the 8-12 pounds many were losing..I did not do any meat in phase two week one , could that be the reason?
Monday, April 21, 2008, 2:28 PM
Re: hunger
The healthy range for you if you are in your 20s is 121-135 approximately. Be careful not to get caught up in the media standards of what slim is...138 is pretty small for your height. Maybe you should just learn to eat healthily and exercise...so you can maintain your Assests and still be healthy
Monday, April 21, 2008, 2:31 PM
prepared oatmeal- just follow directions on oatmeal box for one serving. should be one cup
Monday, April 21, 2008, 3:09 PM
any kind of turkey except fried!
Monday, April 21, 2008, 3:12 PM
Vegetarian?
I have been toying with the idea of being a vegetarian for years, now with Fat Smash diet I am well on my way. I did the detox, did not miss meat and only had meat 2 days in phase 2. I am enjoying eating the fruits and legumes too much to go back to meats. However, will I lose the desired weight in the time expected?
Friday, April 25, 2008, 2:34 PM
poster 1:19.. granola and cheese is not part of phase 1.. phase 2 allows 1 oz of cheese back into the plan.
Friday, April 25, 2008, 5:21 PM
Phase 2
Im somewhere stuck in the middle of phase 1 and 2. Time wise Im in phase 2 but I have not really stepped out of the eating from phase one. Im afraid too. Any ideas?
Monday, April 28, 2008, 6:57 PM
Granola and cheese
Thanks..I thought they were a part of phase 1...ooops maybe that is why I only lost 4.5 pounds :) What about red skin potato, is that allowed in Phase 2 or 3? I know no white potato but does that mean red skinned?
Friday, May 2, 2008, 2:30 PM
Re Phase 2
I am the same way, about to start phase 3 and still pretty much doing phase one, except for Granola bar and a little meat on the weekend. I have lost 8 pounds to date..will weigh tomorrow, hoping for another 2!!
Friday, May 2, 2008, 2:32 PM
Well I just started Day 1 of Phase 1 today. I tried this a few months ago and lost 6lbs in the first week. But I am having a hard time continuing the process. Any suggestions?
Saturday, May 3, 2008, 2:47 PM
Skipping detox.
This diet sounds like an exciting way to eat healthy as well as lose weight. I have less than ten pounds to lose. Do you think I can do this by using the plan and skipping the detox?
Saturday, May 3, 2008, 8:35 PM
sweet potatoes only.. red skinned yellow skinned stillmeans a white potatoe. until later on, but now I love my sweet potatoes. sweet potatoe fries yummmm
I do phase 1 dipping into phase 2 and some 3..
2:47 get creative.. try new veggies, new recipes.boca burgers, veggie patties, brown rice pasta can be found at health food stores. trynew fruits..
I too love the beans and brown rice now.. as far as going off phase 2. my health coach tole me i have to learn to eat outside ofphase 1. so He bought me a food scale.. I weigh allmy meats, cheese and such.
8:35 I would not recommend skipping detox.. that part of teh plan cleanses your body of all the processed CRAP we put into it.
congrats to you all who have tried and releasedsome weight. you know it works keepsmashing
1 oz of cheese is alowed in phase 2
6:57.. if you follow phase 2 you will lose weight. just remember after detox the weight does slow down. I have released 15 pounds the last two months.
we can do this guys.. keepbelieving in yourself.. hope that answers your questions.. keep smashing everyone!

MY First day od Fat Smash
This is day one and so far so good ... I'm really excited !
Monday, May 5, 2008, 12:06 PM
Re: Skipping Detox
Please do not skip it..It is the BEST!! You lose the most anywhere between 4-10 pounds!!
I accidentally did white potatoes in my soup last week....so I gained a pound, it
was also "that time of the month" so maybe that is the reason for the pound.
I love the no meat concept and eat meat only once or twice per week. I am going to do some egg whites and fish this week to mobilize my body as I do not want it to plateau. I am now fitting into some mediums..coming from extra large..even though I have only lost 8 pounds....I t is really amazing!! I am hoping for another 6-8 pounds this month!! Thanks for the comments, they have really helpED!!

Re: First day
CONGRATS!! I have my daughter fresh from her first year in college and 20 pounds later on it . She is not enjoying it as she has a sweat tooth but she is hanging in there for the detox. I figure phase 2 wll be easier for her!
You will do so well, just do not cheat in DETOX!!
Monday, May 5, 2008, 1:58 PM
Sweet tooth
Having a sweet tooth was a big concern for me . It's my Weakness :-( But just with the first day of detox I realized that all the fruit I’m not craving it at all . Last night I had a baked Sweet potato and it was like a dessert! So far so good ! Oh, what do you guys think about daily weigh in?
Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 9:34 AM
noooo wweighing... wait till the last day of detox you will be surprised i was 7 1/2 pounds its worth the wait..

1/3 cup Splenda
2 large egg whites

3. In a big bowl, mix oatmeal, baking powder, salt and cinnamon

5. Fill each muffin 3/4 full, bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.

Third day and I feel like I’m eating a lot! Maybe it’s because I use to skipping meals and then piling it all in later in the day. Between the every 3 hours and water I’m not starving at all! Okay, I'll be honest in saying I’m so freaking gassy :-( ... what the heck can help me with that??? Beano??? Maybe I shared too much. Oh well any ideas?

Has the FS Diet Been Revised
I just read about the 4 week plan for the FS Diet in First magazine and it seems to me that Week 1: Detox is very different from what is described in the book. Dr. Ian Smith is featured and describes the plan in detail. In the Detox week you can have chicken, fish, or turkey and snacks including low fat ice cream, pudding snacks, Hershey's kisses and jelly beans. Is this something new that he has added to the diet? I'm confused about how to follow this plan because of this article. Thanks.
Monday, May 12, 2008, 11:26 AM
PP- it is VERY different. I actually got interested in the plan because of that same article. Then I was confused so I looked up some information on line (that's how I found PT by the way :0) and then decided through those posts to go and buy the EFS book. I ended up following that rather than the First's plan. Hope that helps even a little....

Splenda
Is Splenda allowed on the Detox phase of the diet or ever? It seems that Dr. Smith is against artificial sugars. But then I found this website http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/archive/index.php/f-212.html
and it seems that these FS dieters are using it.
Monday, May 12, 2008, 11:57 AM
Splenda
I do believe it is allowed as sugar subsitutes in small quantities are suggested.
I am in week 6 (second week Phase 3) Have lost 9 lbs, I average 1 pound per week, did not lose any one week, gained 2.6 figured out that I had eaten white potatoes and it was not allowed. I was sooo MAD!! I would have been down at least another pound or two!!
I found a great six week work out plan in prevention magazine, really effective, it builds endurance by changing your daily and weekly workout, increasing time every week. I am in week 5, I do believe it has helped. I also order ed Harvey's Boot Camp, has any used it? How can I increase my average weight loss to 2 pounds per week? I need to lose another 33 -38 pounds and would love to do it all by September 30!! AND SPEND THE REST OF THE YEAR TONING!

Looking for Support
Hello All... I'm a new fat smasher. I just turned 28 a couple of weeks ago. It was a major wake up call. I finally had to accept that the weight will not go away if I starve myself for a week or two. Sad enough, that mentality has caused me to gain over 50 pounds. I lost 30. Gained 10 recently. So here I am. I want to loose 40 pounds. I have struggle with my weight for too long. I believe this is the lifestyle for me. I love fruits and veggies. I just really need the support.
Wednesday, June 4, 2008, 10:33 AM
Re: Need support
You got it!! I have been on it for Two months, have lost 11 pounds....It is amazing..it WORKS!! I need to lose 35-40 pounds also...so we can support each other. Just make sure you pre plan your meals...I love soups, so I make a huge pot of soup on Sundays with different beans- red, lima, chick, kidney, black any combination depending on my mood...I add corn, lentils, cabbage, bok choy, carrots and natural spices...it is amazing...lasts me all week. Have it for lunch every day pretty much. I cook Uncle Ben Brown rice with beans or mixed veggies..natural spices to taste with veggie burgers and thats my dinner most days...smoothies, naturally blended fruits with soy milk are delicious and I add some flaxseed.....I have lost a total of 20 INS. I work out at least 5 days for a minimum of 40 minutes. You can do it and it is SOOO easy!!

I printed a few, but began just looking them up when I wanted them on my computer in the kitchen. Please help! I really like the receipes because they kept it interesting.

phase one - advice
Hi all
I have ordered the book and am awaiting delivery. In the meantime I have started the phase one. Please help answer my questions:
1. Can I use fat-free milk instead of skim milk?
2. What the portion size of the legumes/beans?
3. Can I use soya brugers instead of tofu and whats the portion size?
4. I got this list from the internet : 1. You also get a very limited amount of olive oil dressing to use : Is this for one day or do you share it through the 9 days?
You can email me : lisa.janakk@gmail.com
Many thanks

HANG IN THERE!!!
I am impressed by all of you! This diet is not for me but for those who are on it, hang in there till you reach your goal!!!
If you have already lost some pounds, remember how it was before you lost it or how hard it was to reach your current weight so that you won't slip up and get discourage.
If you slip up, don't get discouraged. Get right back on it.
My only advice is try to get a check-up if you haven't already. It may give you an incentive to stick to the end.
Congratulations on coming this far, wherever you are right now. Don't go back!!!

Headaches
It is normal to experience headaches if your body is withdrawing from something, or detoxing. Constipation can also cause headaces
Thursday, July 24, 2008, 9:56 PM
Headaches
I gtt them, too, and they lasted for days in the initial week of the detox. Just think of all the things we're purging our bodies of - caffeine, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, excess sodium, fatty foods, etc. And think of all the processed foods that aren't 'food' at all - they're the product of food science - things that don't exist in nature. No wonder my head hurts - it's like coming off a food/chemical hangover!

Newly Motivated
I just started the fat smash diet. Today is my 4th day. I an doing well so far. I have not cheated and proud of that. I am really missing soda. I have been drinking water which is newto me because I never liked it. I'm getting used to it but still missing sodas and juices. I also am missing meats, especially with my family and friends being able to eat whatever they want; i am tempted a lot by them, but im holding strong for now. I can't wait until detox is over just for one soda and a piece of chicken. Suprisingly I'm not missing the sweets because I'm used to eating late night sweets, but instead i just grab a piece of fruit, it's working. I need support from you guys, especially since my family and friends are not a big help :-) Wish me luck and good luck to you all.

Stage 2 now
I am on Day 12 of the program, which puts me in Stage 2. I would like to lose about 25 pounds. I found Stage 1 Detox both easy and hard. The first 3 days were hard because I had a terrible headache (and sick to my stomach) the entire time. I believe it was due to not having any caffeine (I lived on coffee and diet coke!). Also, at times I craved meat. For the most part, it was an easy diet. I'm glad I can now have a cup of coffee and small portions of meat, chicken, and fish. I feel more energized now.

Doing well mainting diet
I bought the EXTREME fat smash diet book by mistake instead of the first version. In cycle one it does say that you can have up to 2 diet sodas and 1 cup of coffee. I am on day 4 and I have been pushing myself to walk. I just throw on my ipod and walk close to 3 miles. He does mention cardio, but I wonder if me walk is good enough. I am walking at a good speed. Anybody have any input. I also know that he said that you should lose 4 ibs a week......can you lose more than that? I am not rushing it, I just wonder, because I am eating strickly by the book and I have not done that ever. I have cut out Alcohol and alot of fattening foods. Can anyone help me out with this?
Thursday, August 21, 2008, 6:46 PM

purchased the book a few days ago and have a few questions. Did you read phase by phase and do the diet or did you read the whole book and then start the diet. Also, where can I find this team?

okay so I KNOW I will be able to follow the fat smash diet to the T but there is one thing, I am a senior in college and I only have one semester until I graduate. I do not want to give up drinking alcohol. I know I will follow everything else without cheating, but is it worth it to do this diet, while I will still be drinking 4 nights a week?
Friday, December 26, 2008, 8:39 PM
morning star and boca products are allowed for meat replacements as long as there is no bread crumbs
as far as the question about the plan while drinking.. I would still encourage doing the plan. eating vegetables, healthy grains and fruits are always a good thing.
hope that help you. its a wonderful plan

Juice?
Can you juice your own fruits and veggies instead of eating them? I think I would be able to get more out of the juicing than the eating of them.
Saturday, December 27, 2008, 4:10 PM
I think they want you to et used to eating yout fruits and vegies. but I am not sure about veggies i know juice is ot allowed on detox. such as fruit juice anyway.

Fat Smash Diet
I haven't seen nor read one comment about what happens at the end of the program, and you still have quite a bit of weight to lose. I read the book cover to cover, and no mention.
Are you supposed to start back at Phase I?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Curves Workout
I used to be a circuit coach and I did the workout along with the members, and even though I don't work there anymore I am still a member. The new monitors they have called SMART is like a personal coach and it tells you how many calories you burned after you finish a workout. The more overweight you are the more calories you burn. I was about 250 lbs. and I usually burned 500-600 calories per workout. Members who weighed up to 190 usually burned 300-400 calories, but it really depends on the person.

FS Diet
I just go on!
I am on day 3 of Phase 1, I didn't know how to stop the candy or the meat but now at day 3 I love it and I am not hungry, I found soy breakfast sausage, I just brown it and throw in 3 egg whites and some seasoning. It was delicious. Today I am going to saute some tofu in a WOK and add egg whites, brown rice, and veggies for some serious stir fry. I haven't weighed myself. I don't think I am going to lose any weight during phase 1 because I did a chemical detox about two weeks ago but I still love this eating.

Detox Phase I
I've just completed 9 days of detox in Phase I of the Fat Smash Diet. I weighed this morning and unfortunately I've only lost 3 lbs. I stuck to the diet and didn't cheat. I walked 1 1/2 miles each day. Due to an ankle sprain I'm unable to do step aerobics which I love. I'm going to continue onto Phase II of the diet.

I am on the Fat Smash I completed the first nine days and I did really well. I lost 3 pounds. I am on the second phase and I haven't been doing as well but I am striving to get back on track.

how to eat
In phase 1 do you eat all the required portions in one day? I am on my second day of phase 1 and I am not sure if i am doing it right. Where it says 4 egg white 1 cup oatmeal etc the book states "per day". I am not sure if this means i have a choice of eating these on different days or throughout the day. Can someone share what they do so I can be less confused. Also do i have 4 egg whites in one sitting or through out the day?
Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 10:22 AM
How are you eating
i am not sure how to structure meals in phase 1. where it says "per day" does that mean that i have to eat all per day? so that every day i should eat 1 cup oatmeal, 4 egg whites etc? or do i choose to eat these on particular days? Can someone please help I have just started and i really want to do this right because i need to lose 30 pounds.
Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 10:49 AM
Has anyone done this diet and actually managed to maintain their weight loss? Everyone I know who has done this diet just put all their weight back on again. I know that the plan has a maintenance phase, but people tend to ignore diet plans once the weight is initially gone.
Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 10:57 AM
I just started Phase I and I am on Day 3, but the list of food is a daily amount. There is a note in the book that states you can eat all the food daily, but discourages it. Eat until you are satisfied and do not skip any meals even if you are not hungry. I haven't weighed myself...I am going to wait until day 10 and will keep you posted. Stay strong, you can do it!
Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 7:09 PM
I am on day 2 of the diet and I really like it. I do not find myself hungry at all. I have breakfast around 8 to 8:30 and then a snack around 11 with lunch around 1 and a snack around 3 and dinner around 6:30. I am excited to see what happens on day 10 :)
I think with any diet if you don't maintain correct eating patterns you will gain your weight back. Be smart, eat right, exercise and you will be fit for life!!!

Fat Smash Diet is a SUCCESS
Hi All,
I'm on day 6 of Phase 1 and have NEVER felt better. I heard about Fat Smash from a friend. I've been blaming the 110 pounds I've gained in 9 years on my husband and realize that I no longer recognize the woman in the pictures.
Upon reading the testimonials on FatSmash.com, I decided that I too could incorporate Dr. Ian's diet plan for a lifelong committment. I have tried Phentermine, South Beach, Metablolife; all with very time-limited success. This is the first plan I've utilize that REALISTICALLY works. I honestly believe that if I can do this, anyone can.
I've lost 12 pounds in 6 days. My husband has lost 8 and 2 friends at work have lost 10 and 8. I'm hoping to lose ALL 110 pounds by my 30th birthday,
7-24-10.
Good luck to everyone!!!

I had a couple of false starts as I call them.. would start and than go off and eat.. I would go back to day 1 and than return back to the day you were on.. thats what I did. so I gave the detox a extra day for the day I cheated.
hope that helps!
Liz.. if your stilla round congrats on you and your familys success with the plan.. keep going guys!

Starting the fat smash
Hello everyone!
I want to start the fat smash, but before I do I want to know if it's ok to have canned beans and lentil? Also sugar substitutes for my oatmeal? I want to do it right.
Monday, August 31, 2009, 10:47 AM
I think I need to start over with FSD
Hi...started FSD on August 6 but sadly I didn't keep up with it...cheated once, twice and then just kinda gave up...not on the concepts completely because I have been eating alot better since I started back on the journey to change my lifestyle and my body...but...seeing all the stories of the people who did (really DID) FSD and the amazing results...I've only lost about 3.5 pounds and it's almost a month already...that could be discouraging...I'm kinda angry with myself that I didn't stick with it....so...trying to find the motivation to start again from Phase 1...God help me!

Am I heavy enough for this diet?
Really weird question i know, but here's the thing.. I'm not exactly overweight, i'm about 130 and 5'7 but i really want to lose about 10-15 pounds but i know its difficult to lose weight the heavier you are and i'm afraid that this diet will make me eat more than i eat now as opposed to less. I would hate to gain weight on a diet. So i wanted to know if i would lose weight with the fat smash diet or if i should do that other "extreme", i belive, fat smash diet, I haven't heard much about it. Thankss
Sunday, November 22, 2009, 1:00 AM
That's a good question 1:00 AM
I think you can try Phase I and see how it goes for you. I highly doubt that you will gain weight while on the diet. My problem was not being able to go through the detox for the full 9 days - I was craving carbs so bad that I ended up gaining after I went off the diet.

Yogurt
Can the yogurt be flavored or does it have to be plain.......I hope not, Thanks for any help!

As far as losing weight goes...you have to ask yourself "do I want to LOOK good or do I want to EAT good. Choose which person you want to be...and be that person. (Don't forget to eat right and EXERCISE)

Fat Smash Diet
I tried the fat smash diet 2 years ago for a contest and lost about 17 pounds in less than 2 months. I won $300. I want to do it again, but need more recipes. The books has a recipe for phase 1 that has cheese as an ingredient and cheese is not allowed on phase 1. Did Dr. Ian Smith read his own book before publishing it?

Well - I actually think about trying out the fat smash diet since I have tried out a lot of other diet forms so far, that actually didn't work with me, unfortunately. I mainly try sticking to
the five best low calorie foods
in order to get the best possible results from the diet including a heavy work out three times a week - maybe if I include more sport, my body will get better and I will feel a little bit more beautiful.

49lbs Lost!
I started the Fat Smash diet in December and saw such great results in Phase 1 that I did it for 18 days instread of 9. During those 18 days I lost 20lbs. I was doing the diet, but I was NOT working out. After that I moved to Phase 2 and started jogging 3-4 miles daily. In 4 months I've lost 49lbs. I went from a women's size 20 to a size 12 and they are starting to fit loose! Fat Smash works if you stick to it! Make it a lifestyle change instead of just the diet and you'll be successful.
By the way, I didn't buy the book or get it from the library. I used all free online tips and fat smash receipe forums to succeed.

fat smash totally works. It is a variation of Dr. Joel Fuhrman's advice, but made accessible. Ian Smith is the real deal!
