Britney Spears - Stronger, Christina Aguilera - Fighter, Eminem - Lose yourself, Destiny's Child - Survivor... they have great beats, are fast paced, and are about overcoming things and being stronger for it. They always get me pumped up!

MTV and VH1 Videos
Although, I'm not really into most of the types of music they play on MTV and VH1, I've found that the videos work when I am doing the treadmill or bike in front of the TV. I like "Button-Pussy Cat Dolls" and "Hips Don't Lie-Shakira". Seeing the GREAT shape that those girls are in and the way they are moving in the videos, just makes me workout harder and faster.....thinking that someday I will have that body if I keep working at it. Also, I know for them to have the bodies they do, they are working out too. So, that is more of an incentive!

Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake
I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I LOVE this song. Just hearing it makes me want to dance and move!

I know it sounds strange, but I am obsessed with Broadway...listening to "Rent" and "Take me Out Tonight" from Rent will totally get me going! There are also a few on the Aida soundtrack that get me pumped...

I forgot about AAF- thanks for the reminder.
I always find it interesting though. Some songs people mention I have on file, but would never add to a play list because I find the beat too slow or too fast. But, it all depends on what workout we do (running v. stepping or biking) and whether or not we can only move to the beat. (I cannot run to a song unless my feet hit the floor with the beat)

1:22 - sorta. I have a couple songs that I ramp up with and then some really kick-you-in-your-lazy-outta-shape-butt songs and then a few 'cruisin' songs and then a few take-off-that-dress-this-ain't-a-teaparty songs and then I cool down with something steady and easy moving.
and I don't diss anybody's music - if it works for you that's what counts.

When I'm picking up speed or working out hard I like music like the White Stripes "Doorbell" or "Come Back Down" by M. Doughty. When I'm cooling off after working out I love to listen to "Nobody Does It Better" by Carlie Simon. It is my triumphant finishing music.

workout music for the mind and body
I like music that I can listen to during my entire workout - songs that I would either sing, nod my head and/or dance to. Here's my eclectic workout music list:
Alice in Chains - Rooster
Basement Jaxx - Good Luck
Texas - Inner Smile
Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes
Amy Winehouse - In My Bed
Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance
Ashanti - Only You
RuPaul - Everbody Dance
Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody
Heather Headley - He Is
John Waite - Change
Can I Get A Witness - Marvin Gaye
My Chemical Romance - The Ghost of You
Foget Me Nots - Patrice Rushen
Can't Truss It - Public Enemy
Rachid Taha - Barra Barra
Heather Small - Proud
Rent Soundtrack - Seasons of Love
Soul II Soul - Back to Live
It's all about having a good list that you don't have to skip around to sounds that you like more than others. It doesn't matter if the pace of the songs are slightly different, as long as the music helps keep you working out!
