Question about weight and marriage
Hi,
I've read on several other posts how people have tended to gain weight after they got married. Is this because of the living together/eating together, or something else?
I'm getting married in just over a month (!!!) I've been living with my guy for about 9 months, and practically living with him for over a year before that - ate 95% of meals togehter other than when at work, etc. I've gotten my weight under control during this time. I'm just wondering if there's something to watch out for, specifically, or if (hopefully!) I've already figured it out.
Any thoughts??

I was one of the posters who commented that I gained weight after I got married.
I actually lived with my guy for 9 months before we got married and in that time, I didn't gain much, if any weight. In my case, many of our dates and couple activities were active, like going for bike rides or going to the gym. After we got married, we both got comfortable and lazy (maybe because we knew that the other one couldn't leave as easily??), life got busy and we started eating out more and exercising less. For us, the gaining wasn't just me tho - he gained almost 60 pounds to my 35 pounds.
When I turned 30, I got serious about getting rid of the extra weight and have kept 25 pounds of it off for the last 4 years. He's only now gotten serious about losing and is down 15 pounds.
