I think Desmond's old girlfriend has been spending all of her money looking for his boat... I could be wrong, but that's what I think. Too bad it looks like Desmond might not have made it now...

ok, so maybe she was searching for the boat... but what was the thing about how the computer that those guys had said "electromagnetic anomaly detected" or sthg and then that's when they called her? huh? how did they know they had found desmond and/or the boat because of that? whaaaaat does it all mean??

Lost fanatic

Ok, I'm addicted to this show. I wasn't sure at first either, but after much thought and looking at other's comments on web boards I think when they didn't push the button and Desmond used the key to "end" it, these scientists were able to detect this magnetic anomoly-- which they were supposedly looking for for Penny, Desmond's true love. She has lots of money and must be using it to find Desmond. Does this make sense? the whole magnetic thing bogs me down a bit, but I think we basically just need to realize that there is someone that may be looking in the right place for these castaways.

Yes, she clearly is looking for him and those guys in siberia are working for her ... that's all clear ... but how could they connect the magnetic field anomaly to desmond,? .... unless they had been watching him all along ... but didn't know where he was. Maybe they could see the transmissions to the other hatch, but didn't know where they were coming from!!!! Maybe I've figured it out. I see why people love this show!

Maybe she found out that her dad had something to do with his disappearance and/or about this island-- since Widmore is connected to that crazy Hanso foundation? Should be interesting next Fall!

Are you guys kidding??? OF COURSE the dad had him send there in some way. I dont know if he set up the whole Dharma Initiative or if he just got Desmond to go there but he DEFINITELY had something to do with it so she found out and hired people to find out where it is. Think hes dead or alive?
