weight loss and breast/shoe size

I've heard that people have lost breast size and shoe size as they have lost weight. Anyone experienced this?

I haven't lost a shoe size at all (still a long 9.5!!!) but my breasts went from a 38DD to a 34 D/36 C after losing 40 lbs.

Big difference!!!!!! I'm kind of sad to see the girls go :)

Lost shoe/breast size

Yep, it happens. I lost a shoe size, even with a pregnancy in the middle of the majority of my weight loss. It was over a hundred pounds though, so I'm guessing you need to be dropping more than the usual 30-50 pound range to see movement on shoe size. The breasts went down a cup and four inches. Fortunately, not a lot of sag!

I've dropped about 40lbs, 3 dress sizes. Went from a 36DD to a 36D. I' not complaining about that- fine by me, I just don't want to go below a C cup. However, some of my shoes are a little too big now, and that does piss me off as I'm an absolutel shoe fiend...

35 pounds for me was more than a full cup size. Also, I actually had to get a new helmet for horseback riding because the old one got too big... weird, huh? Didn't know I had a fat head...

I'm the original poster. thanks for the info! I am in a 46DDD and am praying these girls go down a bit because bra shopping sucks! I also have big feet and am hoping to drop a size there as well-so this is all very encouraging. To the poster who lost 100 lbs....HOW?! My goal is over 100 lbs, so I would love to hear from ya!

Lost 130 so far

Let me start by saying that I distinctly remember how daunting it felt to have a goal for weight loss that was in the triple digit range. The way I lost 130 pounds was simple, yet the simplest things aren't always the easiest. Here's what worked for me:

1) An hour of cardio a day on average-
Try lots of different things! Don't let yourself fall into a rut with it.

2) Weight train three days a week.
During maintainence, I have found it necessary to keep that to at least twice weekly.

3) Avoid foods that are white or contain white ingredients (flour, sugar, potatoes, white rice).

4) 3-5 veggies and 2-4 fruits a day.
The more veggie, the better!

5) If you hit a plateau, try something new!

Hope this is helpful!

Hope that helps!

orignal poster here again- Thanks so much for the great advice. it does seem daunting right now how much weight I have to loose-especially on 'bad' days emotionally, physically taxing days or days when it seems the scale is SO high. But, thanks for your advice and I am going to try my hardest!!!

My chest size did go down. When I was 220, I wore a 38 large c or D. Now at 163 I wear a 36B and that might be a little too big.

I always lose it in my chest first-- unfortunately since I'm a B cup to begin with. Grrrr. The shoe size has remained the same though.

Lost 130

Thanks for the encouraging words. I know about the shoe and bra size drops. I have experienced them before. Sharing the knowledge of the fruits and veggies, I know about but never really used. Thanks again for that tip. And here I am complaining that I have 50 pounds to loose. Brava for you. J.

Motivation

The way to keep on track is to think that this isn't a temporary thing you are doing (diet and exercise), but this is the way you will eat and move for the rest of your life. The poster who mentioned giving up "white foods" is exactly right. Just doing that would have a significant effect on the obesity problem in this country.

As for the bra/shoe size debate...my shoe size hasn't changed. I put weight on in my breasts first and lose it there last. I think it's genetically detemined.

Everything is looser on me after losing weight- my ring is very loose, my pants are falling down-- and best of all my butt is saggy.

I've lost about 40lbs, and yes my shoe size has gone done from size 8 to 7.5, and sometimes a 7. If you think about it, that's about the amount of weight women gain when they are pregant, and I often hear they their shoe size increases about that much. As you put on more weight, there's more pressure on the arch of your foot, therefore your foot flattens out a bit, resulting in needing a larger shoe size. I'm hoping that my shoe size won't shrink much more with the last 20lbs or so to lose, as I also like to buy lots of shoes, some of them expensive. The great thing about shoes and purses is you can generally keep using them long after you've lost lots of weight.

bra size has gone from a 38 DD to a 34 B/C and shoe size has gone from a 9-9.5 range to a 8.5-9 range (after 75 lbs).

I really wasn't prepared to wear smaller shoes, but I was out shopping a few weeks ago and must have tried on 20 pairs of shoes in 9 and 9.5 and nothing fit right!! My sister finally suggested I wander into the 8.5's and they fit perfectly!! haha, I would have never thought to do that-I thought it was the shoes!!

a question for the OP: where do you buy your bras and what kind do you like best?

When I started I was 5'8 183lbs, a 38D, and a size 8 1/2 shoe.
Now I'm 5'8 140lbs, a 34A/32B, and a size 7 shoe.

how weird is this? i swear my girls are getting bigger! i've always been a 36D thin or thick, no fluctuation there. i've lost 12 pounds so far on my 60 lb trek, and i swear they look bigger, my husband even commented on it! my guess is they are the same, but since my body is slimmer they are looking larger proportionately, but that doesn't explain why they are fuller in the top of my bras either... thoughts?

btw- i've found the best sports bras at dicks sporting goods (in store)... not sure the brand but they are in large cup sizes and hold me down perfectly! they have three hooks on the back and velcro shoulder straps for a perfect adjustment.

When I was 220 I wore a size 7.5 wide after losing 60 pounds I am now wearing a 6.5 regular, my boobs haven't lost anything, unfortunately they didn't get bigger with me :(

yep, boobs and feet

bra: 38C > 34B
shoes: 9.5-10 > 8-9 This surprised me a lot!

I think the smaller breasts help make me look slim, I don't mind so much. But if anyone has a tip for encouraging reabsorption of the stretchy breast skin, I'd love to hear it...

I have no boobs!

I've lost about 12 lbs in the last 6 months, but I wasn't a big girl. I lost the 12 lbs that I gained when I graduated from college and got a desk job (we gotta keep ourselves in check)- sitting all day sucks. Now I'm back to my 124 lbs and can wear my clothes again...but I'm teeny tiny when it comes to boobs and just losing those 12 lbs made my tiny boobs get even smaller!!! I'm barely able to find ANY bra that fits...I feel like I gotta go shop in the training bra section but I'm not sure if I can take myself to do that...it's really depressing. I've always been against breast implants, but they don't sound so bad right now!

My feet are preety big and already boney so i dont think they will shrink. But let me tell you something, if they did i would be freakin ecstatic!

My breasts are the only bits of my body that neither lose nor gain weight. I've gone from 32 E to 34 DD to 36 D and back to 34 DD. They just sit there, while I expand and shrink around them. Anyone else, or am I on my own on this one?!

I have been able to tell some in my breast size since I have lost 88 pounds but not much. Now for the shoes...yes my shoes are a bit bigger. I wear a 9.5 WIDE and they are too big. I think I will try a 9 next time I buy shoes. Seems I am buying a new pair of tennis shoes about every 4-5 weeks now! I am wearing them out with my workouts...maybe if I wouldn't be so cheap they would last longer! LOL

My boyfriend lost 60 pounds and he noticed that his hats were too big. He didn't realize he had such a fat head either! LOL

Seems like the first thing I lose is my boobs and I really don't want to lose anything there. I also lost 1/2 a shoe size, which I actually like. I have small feet (5 1/2 - 6) and it seems as though most people are larger than that so I always find the cutest shoes on clearance in my size. Downfall to that is I now have close to 350 pairs of shoes!!

Big fat boobs would not look good on a smaller body. My boobs were just extra fat. I don't miss that at all.

WHITE GIRLS SMALL BOOBS

One problem is that the stigmatization of fat is so widespread that stores MAKE LARGE WOMEN FEEL BETTER BY saying the average breast size is 34 B. hardly the case !!! lean grils are flat cheated and large women fat around the band size fall into 34 B. Men like big ones so women get implants. The A cups go by B cups at stores as the B bras are all padded. voila US size is 34 B. get the picture? LOL..it's the latinas and middle eastern who are big....which is white they never make it to fashion industries as the flatter boobed white girls. "fat people's" are the 34 B 36dd with 5.2" heights...regardless of whatever other sizes they sell, industries feel that they will actually lose business by offering bras smaller average size. Distribution is among their customer base and the customer average is 34 B but nobody seese how fat thy are...the thin white girls /women are A cups average) max B on a 5.6 5.10 frame. that is SMALL dude!

You have to remember, in some cases you may think you are losing your breast size, but you've actually lost back fat. It's also about bra manufacturer. Not saying for all bra size losses, just for some. I'm a DD no matter what the number in front of it is. I'm hoping eventually they will go down a little but I've gotten new pants, new tops to accommodate my middles, but no new bras. I'm still happy in my 44DD and they are not only all mine, I've had a surgical reduction 19 years ago.
