Grapples
Anyone else had these yet? It's an apple (from the Fuji line) that also tastes like a grape? They just started showing up at my supermarket, and I am a new fan. Just wondering if anyone else has tried them?

whoa, I've never heard of them but I'll have to try to find them! Are they crispy like fujis?

my manager had one the other day. I didn't taste it, but it smelled like artificial grape to me. He said it tasted good though.

Yep, they are artifically grape, they also have added sugar or corn syrup in them. Why bother, they are more expensive then grapes and apple together. A 4 pack where I am is almost $5.

Grapples do not have added sugars or calories . They do have a website and explain how the flavor is added. It is a product generated more towards kids .

It doesn't add calories - but the "grape" flavor is similar to grape flavored bubble gum. It's weird.

crisp like fujis
To the person who asked if they are crisp -- they are. That's why I like them. I've never had one that is mushy. Also, I did not find the taste to be artificial, just my opinion.

Galas and Fujis rock!
I used to like McIntoshes, but for some reason, over the past few years, they have become mealy and mushy with little flavor. I think it's the product of over-producing them or something...
Galas are now one of my most favorite apples with Fujis running neck in neck-- I could eat them by the bagful (and do!)

From what I read, there is no added sugars or calories - just a grape taste.
