I'd like to lose 17 pounds. I don't know how long it will take

I'm the one that's new here and everyone had such nice things to say I thought I'd post this too. I don't know why but I love that you don't know me! I'm talking to people that won't judge me only my words. It's so much easier. So what would you do to lose 17 pounds? What have you tried? How long did it take? Will it be impossible to do over the holidays? Thank you!

If you're under 40, you can probably lose about 2 lbs a week by exercising at least 30 min a day for 5 or 6 days a week and eating a lot of veggies, some fruit, and some healthy carbs in moderation. For exercise, you need to do cardio as well as strength training to build up your muscles.

When I first started weight watchers in my 30s, I lost on the average 2 lbs a week. Unfortunately, the lost weight found its way back to me, and now that I'm in my late 40s, it's a lot more difficult to lose weight.

I lose weight in my 40s the same as in my 20s. My sister is 50 and lost 40 pounds (with 5-10 more to go) no problem. What you say to yourself and what you believe is possible is far more relevant than your age!

Nothing is impossible through the holiday season. The actual holidays comprise a total of a handful of days, if that, depending upon what you celebrate. There's no reason it has to turn into a 6 week indulgence-fest. If you're committed to your goals - if you want it bad enough - it won't be a problem.

There are lots of ways to lose weight - there's no one way, but love the pp's sentiment: eat clean, train mean. So much truth to that! If eating clean is too much of a jump (you like your processed foods - things that come in boxes, packages, frozen food section, etc.) then figure out your calorie budget for weight loss and track.

I'm 65 and I lost 30 lbs over the summer

I started on 183 at the end of April 2013, and I was 153 at the end of September. I am still doing the PT diet only less strict, I allow myself to eat a little more than I did in the beginning. I want to get to 148 but I don;t have a time frame for that, at least not in weeks, more in months.

I usually exersize one day, one day rest, one day exersize, etc. enz.

So, nomatter how old you are, if you're determined to lose and start with the cleanse, you'll be losing 17lbs before the end of Januari for sure.

The 'JJ Cleanse' made all the difference in the world to me. I have to admit that it was pretty rough in the beginning, but I lost 5lbs in the first 2 weeks, which gave me the strength to continue.

It took me quite a while to make the shakes taste not too bad so I could drink them and not feel I was drinking mud. I apologize for explaining it like that but it was really bed in the beginning. Then I started using my Vitamix in stead of a regular blender, and that made things a lot easier all together.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Milli.
