healthy drink?
looking for a healthy drink that I can have between my jobs. I need something I can blend up quick that is healthy and filling instead of a full meal
Any ideas?

when you say "blend" do you mean in a blender? if so . . yogurt, and fresh fruit w/ a little wheat germ or flaxseed mixed in is a great one i eat often. you can add ice if you want-but it is not necessary. soooo much better for you to make this on your own than to pick up the crap they are selling these days at dunkin donuts and the like.
use banana's, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, plums, pinapple, mango etc. . . . you can also use frozen fruit! i use plain yogurt and sometimes add a teaspoon of honey to sweeten it.

NO SLIMFAST! I read an article a co-worker found a few weeks ago about how Slimfast is 1 molecule away from Drano...that explains the full feeling. It basically erodes your digestive tract which explains why long term users often have blood in their stool all the way up to color problems!
Pria makes shakes which are delicious and really just a complete nutriet shake...Ensure can also be good depending on flavor.

Naked Juice and Odwalla both make some fresh, healthy juices and smoothies in a range of calories (usually around 300 per 12 oz drink). I love the Vanilla Almond Protein one from Odwalla!

I love tomato juice, warm or cold, and hot with an 80-cal string-cheese stick it's really comforting.
Re: things being "one molecule away from" other things--You should talk to a chemist about the makeup of compounds. Lots of things are one molecule away from being other things.. One molecule makes a BIG difference. Being one molecule away from something else means--it's NOT that thing.
Just consider the difference between carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide wrt plants. Plant respiration requires carbon dioxide--they'd die without it. OTOH, look around any smoggy city to see what carbon monoxide does to them. What about oxygen and water? They're one elementary molecule apart (though it's doubled). O (oxygen) vs H2O (water). What about sodium sulfide? It's a strong base that can cause horrible burns! So imagine what could happen if you dropped something like "Real Tears" into your eyes! It contains sodium too! I'm sure someone with more background in chemistry could explain this with better examples, but maybe the point is clear. Changing one molecule really can change the entire thing.
Google for "Dihydrogen monoxide" and read that. It's cheeky, but a great treatise on common scare tactics.
All that said, I'm not a big proponent of stuff like Slim-Fast anyway. I prefer things that know where they came from and spent as little time as possible in a lab, just because I like my food as real as I can get it. :^ ) I don't think Slim-Fast is particularly dangerous; I certainly don't think it's as dangerous as Drano. I just figure it's full of a lot of stuff (like all processed products) and I'd rather eat something that has some relation to nature.

Funny thing-- the ad in the sidebar currently says "Slim Fast Meal Plan" on my computer! LOL
Yes, the last poster is right. Lots of things are "one molecule" away from something else. That doesn't mean it's necessarily good or bad for you.
However, the problem with slimfast is that it is very high in junk chemicals (and if you have any sensitivity to Nutrasweet, I'd stay away from it!) When I was younger, I thought it would help, but then as I got older, I realized that by "drinking" your calories, you feel less satisfied and full...
What I do when I need something on the run is to eat an apple or banana-- the chewing gives you the sensation of having eaten something, but both are high in fiber, and they fill you up without adding a gazillion calories to your diet... Plus, you don't have to mess with a blender- they're in their own natural "wrappers" and it's more environmentally friendly as well!
