from size 35.. to a 12.. follow the rest of my journey to a size 8.. maybe a 6.. time will tell
well long story short for health reasons.. I ballooned up to a size 35 weighing a whopping 370 pounds.. well i have not weighed as of late. last weigh in was around TOM and it was 188 190...
well after losing my dad in July to copd and cancer ,.. i lost track of who i was and who i wanted to be and just didn't care, well I am back.
so the rest of this journey is for myself and in his honor, he was so proud of me..
i slipped into a size 12,... the goal is a size 6 and to be healthy doing it.. no quick fixes got me this far.. no quick fixes will help me finish this journey. i just want to be healthy and fit and look sexy .
im my own magic bullet. I will do this... want to join me?

Hey Lynneta -
I'll join in on this with you. I had a stomach bug yesterday so I consider that a great way to start eating well. My body has already purged all the yucky stuff. (Wish I could purge cravings that easily). Today for me is all about fruits and veggies.

yes please join me.. I want to start a weight release revolution.. lets do this..
ok when I started this i was 188.. im now 185.6.. its working!
time to get consistent with exercise.
my mom who is pretty much in a wheelchair most of the time now post stroke, broken back and quadruple by pass, but still keeps going everyday .. she does dishes, washes clothes cooks her lunch to stay active. she told me she watched people run around our complex pool, riding bikes, swimming.. she said how she wished that was her..
it really made me think she would give anything to be able to move like that.. I have bad arthritis and some health issues, but im able and im not exercising to the best of my ability.. what is up with that. its time to get consistent and finish what I started.. 135 here I come.

I have family members in similar situations and its a reminder to me that what I'm doing now is my training for the ultimate race - old age. Yes i want to look good, but more than that I want to be alive and healthy and able enjoy my life until the end! And I want to feel good doing it. Not to mention being in good shape speeds recovery from those life events you can't predict or avoid, even illness. A 70+ year old runner in our city had to have heart surgery. Running didnt prevent heart trouble, BUT the man ran home from the hospital and he's back to running races. That's what taking care of yourself does for you!

Hmm... 135 would be great! That's my dream weight. My goal weight is 145-150. My time has been going pretty well. Started off the week at 175.8 and am now 174.4 so making progress. Slow and steady (I need to keep reminding myself that slow and steady is not a bad thing).
I also need to be working on exercise but I'm trying not to overwhelm myself with too many changes at once. I do, however, want to make sure that I get at least 20 minutes everyday of concentrated exercise.
So - we'll see how the rest of the week goes. And Lynneta - isn't it amazing what we take for granted?

So - I got my period and my eating went out the window (only for 2 days) still that 2 days has had a huge impact on my weight... so for today my goal is just to get through the day without eating anything crazy. Keeping the added sugar down and aiming for foods high in fiber and protein to keep me full. My other goal is to drink lots of water which is hard for me when bloated but is really a necessity during my period!

So last week ended up being a bad week with lots of eating, lots of being lazy, and of course, as a result, lots of weight gain.
This week I'm challenging myself to no bread, pasta, or rice. Working out daily for 30min and drinking my 64oz of water every day. I just feel like I need to clean my system out a little bit.

Lynneta - yesterday was a great first day back on track on for me.
Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 8:06 AM
Lynneta I am doing this with you. Not so strictly ETL/EFH, but very close. I use the books as a guideline and fudge a little from time to time. It's not always easy to eat a lb of greens every day. Especially on the days when I'm craving a cheeseburger or a roast beef sandwich or hot & spicy fried chicken wings with buttered bread sticks. Those days don't come around too often anymore, so I give in and have some.
Started at 344.2 in March 2011 and so far am down to 279.8. Long term goal is 175 on the high end, or optimally 150.
WE CAN DO IT!

Lynneta -
The only reason I'm even remotely sticking to an exercise regime is that I'm training for a 5k and doing the couch to 5k program so I have to workout at least 3 times a week. I've already picked the 5k and asked friends to do it with me so I don't want to embarrass myself. Keeps me on track though!
