Vacation- Need Road Trip eating ideas/plan

We are taking a road trip from NY to AL to golf with friends and will be in hotels for 2 weeks. I have been off most animal products and processed food for 3 weeks and don't want to go back there.
I know that I can order extra salad at dinners and steamed veggie but concerned about the rest.
What foods can I pack and/or buy on the road that will keep me from eating on the boring drive?
The hotels will provide breakfast but need more that a piece of fruit to get through 18 holes of golf.
What to take out on the course so not starving at dinner?
Suggestion!!!!

food bags - mini cooler lunch bags

purchase a food bag or two, and those reusable ice packs. in the evening just get ice from the ice machine, and place inside ice bag with reusable ice packs. in the morning, dump out the excess ice and water, and use the frozen reusable ice pack for your food cooler that day.

hit the grocery stores in the morning after breakfast to fill your food bag. Flight attendants and pilots do this while traveling to keep healthy foods on hand, because airport food isn't exactly the best.

oh, I like to google Whole Foods, or Trader Joes, along my driving route, to see where I can make pit stops along the way to use their bathrooms, and get their prepackaged foods, while I'm traveling.

have fun on the golf courses!

Great question- I always travel with a bag of salted roasted cashews. I also pack several avocados, which are easy to cut open and give you some great fiber and fat. A variety of lara bars also help.

You mentioned animal products- we usually travel with turkey jerky. Very tasty and helps take the edge off.
