Fleur- what were your greatest challenges along the way?
Monday, April 17, 2006, 10:53 AM
The greatest challenges were going out to eat and controlling my portions, as well as fitting in excercise into my busy schedule. I solved these problems by always asking for a box before i get my meal when dining out, so that i could box half right away and take it home. As far as excercise, the only thing i could fit in are workout DVDs, but when i tried doing them in the morning before work, i gave up after about 2 weeks. Then i figured out the idea to do them during lunch at work in the little gym we have, so i set up my laptop that plays dvd's and do Turbo Jam whenever i get the chance during lunch.

Fleur, can you give us the scoop on "Turbo Jam?" I'm interested in finding out what kind of a work-out it is. Is it easy to follow?

Scoop on Turbo Jam
Ok here's the scoop:
Yes, i think it's easy pretty easy to follow, it's basically kickboxing (or at least the cardio ones) with a bit of dancy moves mixed in to make it fun. It comes with a diet guide and flash cards of the moves used, as well as a 'Learn and Burn' dvd, so that shows you all the moves that are used in the other DVDs, and i think there's a 10 minute routine you can do in that one for when you are just starting out. There's the 20 minute workout for when you're short on time. I used to combine that with the ab jam 20 min workout (10 minutes standing, 10 mins floorwork). 'Cardio party' is an awesome cardio workout and it definately get's you sweating, and there's this turbo part that you do really fast to get your heart rate up. Then there's 'Turbo Sculpt' that you do with weights (not required, but you can use them). Now i have all the other DVDs that came out so i barely have the chance to use these, but i always do ab jam (or at least try to do it). It comes with this schedule, and it tells you to do what workout when (5 days a week), but i never followed it because I dance a lot as well, so i didn't want to get an overdose of working out. So what i love about TJ: it works, it's fun, it's not annoying, and the music is good:) Jeez i sound like an advertisement, but i love spreading the word about it, oh well.

How funny! I just read the website-- She's an alumna of Michigan State University.... (I'll have to see if the University knows anything about her!)
