bulimia?
This is crazy, but I think I've developed an ED. Yet, I'm actually gaining weight. Does anyone know of any good self-help sites online?

I'm having a similar problem. I've been reading: Something -fishy.org, and also if you feel its serious enough look up " the renfrew center", they are located all across the country, take many kinds of insurance, and are very supportive.

People with bulimia don't necessarily lose weight. Once you have ingested the food the body immediately takes in the calories so that vomiting it up doesn't mean you'll lose weight. If there's any slight chance you feel like you've developed an eating disorder please seek professional help immediately. The sooner you begin intervention the easier it will be.

Hey there, this is the 2:37 poster again. I've been thinking about the topic and I just wanted to say that like I said I have been struggling with an eating disorder for the past few years, yet I'm still at an unhealthy weight and have pounds to lose. Its especially hard to work at losing weight and overcoming an eating disorder at the same time, but both concern health and neither should be ignored. Peertrainer has helped me alot with maintaining a healthier life style, and that is especially due to the community lounge posting, because i feel like when I want to do something harmful to myself I can come here and find the support and strength to work towards being good to my body by seeing the great changes that others are doing for themselves with a healthier approach. But I also have trouble feeling comfortable enough to admit some of the extremes of my weightloss efforts. Because the truth is that many people don't understand, and the last thing you need when youre struggling is to have even those few people who just want to give their 2 cents lecture you or make you feel ashamed because the idea of ed's are foreign to them. But all of us are struggling in some way with our bodies and there are probably alot of people on this site who can relate to what you're going through. So I just wanted to let you know that I dont think there are any topics on this site that we should feel ashamed to discuss, and if you need support don't be afraid to ask:)

Just being able to write down that I might have a problem is very helpful. So, thanks to everyone for their responses.
I wouldn't say I'm overweight, or really ever have been, but I have this guilt association with food. Food and emotion are inextricably linked. I don't know why. Every time I put something in my mouth, I immediately feel horrible about it. I know it sounds a bit nuts, but well, yeah. I guess it is. Any suggestions on web sites is helpful. I checked out "something fishy" It's got a lot of good information.

Think about seeing a therapist or your doctor if possible. It is too hard to do go through that alone!
