Treadmill owners: do you use them?
Hi Everyone! I am contemplating investing in a treadmill for my home. I live in a very isolated community (no fitness center) that is cold and snow & ice-covered through the winter months. I therefore think that investing in a treaddmill would help keep me active as I continue my health & weight loss journey. HOWEVER, those around me are certain that the treadmill will wind up as an abandoned dust collector/clothes hanger before too long... any thoughts?

I can't speak for a treadmill, but I do own a rowing machine and I use it a lot. Oh, and I bought it on craigslist. I don't know if you live too far out in the boonies for craigslist to work, but for sure there is always a lot of exercise equipment on there that is practically new and has been collecting dust in someone's garage.

I recommend it. I also own a bowflex type machine and it was the BEST purchase. I now have my very own gym in the comfort of my own home.

I think those people are projecting their anticipated behavior upon you! You probably have a good idea of whether or not you will use it. What are *your* thoughts? Are you active now, but hampered by the weather in those cold months? Are you just now getting into exercise? If you're just getting into exercise I would go with a much cheaper option and see if you stick with it.

I use mine several times a week but I probably would not if I didn't have it in front of the TV. Without the treadmill, I wouldn't get much exercise.

I love my treadmill. I use it often. I have a treadmill that has pre-programed workouts and it really is great when I can not get outside or do not want to do a DVD workout. I will even read a book while walking at a high incline. You will definitely use it once you get used to the benefits!

I love my treadmill, and like the PP, mine has workouts on it, too. I know there are a lot of people that switch to the eliptical because of knee problems, but my daughter says they take more coordination. Definately try them out at a store first before you buy.

I would love to have my own treadmill but the only ones I have found have been huge and clunky and would be an eyesore in my pretty pink and green room where I would put it and use it. Wish they made slim models in white!

Thanks for your input everyone! I am really leaning toward purchasing one (I live so far 'out there' that it will mean having it shipped to me on a cargo boat- we're talking isolated- no roads in or out!) I have been running for two months now and have worked my way up to 5km... just may be worth it to keep up my new lifestyle:) Might also encourage my husband to get active...

I love mine. I have a sole folding model and use it daily and found it to be the heart of my fitness regimen this past year when I lost 40 lbs.

I love mine! It is the only way I could have gotten a workout after my little one was born. He would nap in his little carseat and I would run on the treadmill and feel great. I love mine. I got an expensive one but it was worth it. I felt like if it was cheap and didn't work well I wouldn't want to use it.

Had one - used it all the time. Got rid of it due to space constraints and got a gym membership which I also use 3x a week.
It's just like anything else- if you prioritize it and schedule it into your day then you will use it. if you just buy it with no plans on when or how you're going to use it, then don't be shocked if you don't.
Since you're waaaay out inthe boonies and already running - I'd say buy a very decent one - don't go with those cheap, brittle entry-level ones. If you're already a regular runner and not going to just be walking on it, look at something better with a cushioned deck and a good motor (I loved my Precor). Especially since you can't just run to the store and get a nicer one.

Many people do not have the opportunity to do a general cleaning in their home, so they work a lot and they just do not have enough time and physical ability. I was told about
house cleaning services in Mukilteo wa
. I was interested in this information because it is about cleaning services. These services help to keep the house clean.
